Boasting 35 years of top-quality service, YES Home Services provides service maintenance, repair and installation. We fix air conditioning, plumbing, heating, & electrical malfunctions for residential & small commercial clients along the Wasatch Front. We serve Weber, Davis, Salt Lake, Tooele, Summit and Utah Counites. 24/hr emergency services.

"YES HVAC scammed me out of $2,500. When I had my furnace & air conditioner replaced last year, YES failed to mention that Carrier (both my heater & AC were Carrier brands) was running a promotion that if you replaced both a furnace & an AC system with Carrier products, they would give you a cash rebate of $2,500. YES HVAC simply did not inform me of the company rebate program; instead, they just took the money from me without my knowledge. I eventually found out about the rebate later when I replaced the second full system in our house. Obviously I went with another more transparent/honest company the second go around. When I discussed the situation with YES management (even providing them with the written proof from Carrier Company of the rebate program), I still have heard nothing further from YES. My suggestion is to go with the competition rather than YES HVAC; it cost me a $2,500 rebate, what will they scam you out of?"

In business since 2004, Davids Electrical, can handle all of your home electrical needs from replacing a wall outlet to all your panel upgrades. Call me today.

"David (a "master electrician" with many years of experience) did a very good job installing 3 new can lights in our kitchen ceiling, connecting them to existing ceiling lights. He was very pleasant and cleaned up well after himself (also an important part of the job). His estimate was at lease 30% or more below what others quoted us. He also fixed another wiring problem we had unrelated to the original job. He asked no more for this additional work. We gave him a "tip" for "going the second mile." He showed up as promised. The job took him about the time he had predicted: roughly 2 hours. In short, I would not hesitate in recommending David and David's Electric. My wife and I are very satisfied customers. Thank you, David!"

Electrical questions, answered by experts

You don’t need an electrician to change an outlet—but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t hire one. Working with electricity can be dangerous, not only for you but also for your home and the members of your household. There’s the risk of electrocution, poor wiring burnout, and electrical fire. When you hire a licensed electrician, you’ll have peace of mind knowing that your electrical outlets are installed correctly and up to code.

Rewiring projects cost anywhere between $1,500 and $10,000 on average, depending on the complexity and the size of the rewiring. You can anticipate spending between $2 and $4 per square foot of wire, including labor and materials. Wire material ranges from $0.25 to $1.60 per linear foot.

While you can plug most electrical items into a GFCI outlet, some with stationary motors, which experience a small amount of current leakage, such as vent fans or fluorescent lighting, can cause tripping. For this reason, it’s often best to plug them into a standard outlet. This can also be a problem if the circuit is over 100 feet long. Some appliances, such as hair dryers, have built-in GFCI protection, so connecting them to a standard outlet is fine.

Outlets with only two slots have no ground connection. That’s more common on very old outlets, which means it’s more likely the outlet won’t be polarized. You’ll have to closely examine the slots to see if there’s a size difference indicating polarization. Keep in mind outlets this old are usually out of code and should be replaced if you’re doing any electrical work.

The easiest way to determine the amperage of your electrical outlets is to check the corresponding breaker in your home’s breaker panel. The number is likely noted on the circuit breaker. If that fails, it’s possible to tell 15-amp and 20-amp outlets apart by looking at them. Fifteen-amp outlets have two vertical holes, while 20-amp outlets have one vertical hole and one T-shaped hole.
