"I requested quotes from 4 places on Angie's List. Mike called me less than 60 seconds after I hit submit (only one other placed called me, and that was after Mike had already been to my house and done the work). He quoted me $389 to remove the old toilet and put in a new one, parts and labor included. I knew that toilets were $200-$300 for parts alone, so I was pleasantly surprised by this low number. He and another guy (I can't remember his name, sorry!) showed up the same day to do the work. They were friendly and professional, and were in and out in less than an hour. "Neighborly Plumbing has to be by far the best plumbing company I’ve ever worked with. We’ve had water issues in our home and contacted five different plumbing companies to have a battery back up sump pump installed because of numerous weather and electrical outages. I was lucky enough to get an estimate from Casey. Not only was he completely knowledgeable with all plumbing codes he was an expert with sump pump systems. All other plumbing estimates had limited knowledge of sump systems and were more than willing to simply dump an extra sump in the basin without any knowledge of how a backup battery worked. In fact those plumbers asked me what I wanted and asked for my suggestions! Seriously!! Need I say I went with Neighborly Plumbing. Their bid was extremely competitive and after all was done and said their quality was heads above everyone else. While completing the job they ended up redesigning the sump system because they found excessive water tables around the property. They wanted to insure that the system they installed was custom to our home and as such they ended up upgrading parts and incurring an additional day of labor for two master plumbers but yet honored my estimate. I’m sure they certainly couldn’t afford to do that on a frequent basis but it goes to show you that there are tradesman still alive and well who insist on quality and function on all jobs that they complete. I can’t say enough about what a pleasure it was to work with Casey, Chris, Matt and Travis. This is a small company but big on reliability, integrity, and quality. Teresa Graziano"

"Although the service provider was very prompt in both communication and arrival and the work was done as outlined, the pricing on a per/hour basis is ridiculous. I priced out the three parts used which at retail would not exceed $150. The time to perform the three repairs took the plumber 1.5 hrs. That’s $600 for 1.5 hours of work or $400/hr.!

Being in the residential trade business myself, charging my clients a fair hourly rate plus materials has kept me in business for over 17 years. 

Had I been able to find an available, independent plumber, charging a reasonable $120-$150/hr rate, my bill would have been around $375.

I will keep looking for that trusted, independent plumber - not one of these larger companies that employ multiple people, pay for expensive advertising and a fleet of trucks!"
