"Utah Valley Landscaping was great to work with. They came out quickly and gave me an estimate on my driveway/ sidewalk concrete project at a reasonable cost. Alex and Chris were very professional and helpful throughout the process. Their workers were also very focused and got a difficult job done quickly. When there was a problem, Alex, Chris and Francisco immediately were there to help resolve the issue! I would highly recommend this company for anyone who has a concrete project in mind!"

"I highly recommend Concrete Transformation LLC. They repaired and coated my garage floor last month and did an exceptional job. I also hired them to coat my 2 driveways and they did a very thorough job of prepping and coating these. I will be hiring them to coat my patio concrete this Spring."

"H&L Concrete was very responsive to all my calls, texts and Emails. They were prompt and on-time everyday of our project. H&L Concrete started the project on-time and actually finished a day early. H&L Concrete was also fair on the price of our project.. I would rehire H&L Concrete for any other concrete projects we may have in the future."

"I contacted the provider and didn't hear anything back for almost 2 weeks. The provider called and said he would be by the next day and then didn't show up. The following day he came by and gave the bid. Once I got the bid, they didn't show up on the day they said they would do the work and came the following Monday. The actual installers did a great job with the work."

"I was very impressed with Peter. He is very knowledgeable with concrete from complex projects seen on commercial jobs to everyday routine projects the average household is looking for. I was very impressed with his work ethic. I really appreciated his routine communication regarding what he was doing and next steps. We did run into an issue — however it did not become a problem but rather it revealed his character and commitment to doing a great job. He acknowledged a mistake one of crew made, owned it, apologized, discussed options on how to address it, committed to seeing it through to the end and he kept his word which demonstrates the kind of character and commitment to excellence that he stands by. I learned that Peter has an extensive background with concrete having been with a concrete union, going through a journeyman program and having worked on complex projects. I plan on having him back for additional concrete work that I need done and would recommend him to my friends, family and community."

"Every year for the last 7 years, my back flow preventer has burst, even after blowing out the lines. I found from our city inspector that I could have that buried to prevent it from freezing every year. Phynix came out and got it taken care of in less than a day and you can't tell they were here. This is going to save me money every winter now."

Concrete Resurfacing questions, answered by experts

Mix the resurfacer into a sticky mixture. The consistency should look like mashed potatoes. Use a squeegee to push the resurfacer across the pitted area and smoothen the surface with a cement trowel flush. Make sure you protect any expansion joints with a weather strip. Alternatively, cut out any resurfacer that touched the joint once the mixture begins to harden.

You can pour concrete over existing concrete and then stamp it to create an overlay. The old concrete must be prepared correctly for the new concrete to adhere properly and create a strong, stable surface. Stamping the new concrete creates a patterned finish that adds visual interest and an upscale feel.

While a contractor is on-site repairing your concrete steps, you can have them inspect other concrete surfaces for minor damage. They may be able to fix cracks in your driveway or garage floor during the same visit. You can also ask them to check your home's foundation for minor issues they can address. However, general concrete repair experts typically cannot handle larger jobs, like leveling a sunken foundation. For major structural projects, you will need to hire a structural engineer.

Concrete resurfacing is the process of applying a new, thin layer of concrete over an existing concrete slab to enhance its appearance and durability. The terms 'concrete resurfacing' and 'concrete overlay' are often used interchangeably, though the exact meaning can vary between contractors. Generally, both refer to applying a layer of pre-blended concrete, typically between 1/4-inch and 1-inch thick. Some contractors may use 'overlay' to describe a thicker application that adds structural integrity, while 'resurfacing' might refer to a thinner, more cosmetic layer. This process is a cost-effective alternative to completely replacing the concrete, as it uses significantly less material than pouring a new 4-inch slab. Resurfacing also provides an opportunity to add new colors or stamped textures. Other names for this process include concrete restoration, concrete refinishing, and concrete rejuvenation.

If your cement garage floor is sinking and cracking, your first step should be to call a local structural engineer to assess the problem. They can determine if it’s a minor amount of sinking related to normal settlement or if the issue is structural in nature. If you do have structural damage, the engineer or a foundation repair company that you hire will come up with a plan to fix the issue, which often consists of mudjacking for less severe issues or underpinning for more extensive problems.
