"Joseph Donabella was the handyman that came and fixed my front door. I have not been able to use my deadbolt for years. Joe took the door off and refit it properly so I can now use my deadbolt again. My door knob lock was also sticking. After he checked it he said I needed to replace the door knob due to its age and suggested I go to a hardware store so I can get the new knob and get it rekeyed to my current key. He was very pleasant and professional. I would work with him again."

"I meant to write this review months ago, but I didn't find where I put their business card until recently! David Adamson came to give a quote on our bathroom that had water damage. I told him our plans and asked if he thought the estimate our insurance gave us was accurate. He assessed the situation and immediately recommend we *not* use his services because he could see that our insurance company was lowballing the estimate. Before doing any remodeling, he said, what we needed was a public insurance adjuster to help us battle with insurance, because a bathroom couldn't be rebuilt for the amount insurance was saying. He knew this because before he was a contractor, he worked as an insurance adjuster."

"I learned so much working with Aaron and team. He came recommended from my friends and I cannot be more satisifed with the process. His team installed insulation, a radiant barrier and new doors and windows. It has made an immediate difference. Aaron was extremely communicative, very helpful, and trustworthy throughout the entire process. His team got here quickly, worked hard, and was very respectful throughout the house. It is the first contractor team that cleaned up after themselves! It was definitely the details from the estimate to the execution - over delivered."

"Francis was great !! He was able to jump on our project quickly. He installed the shower door we bought at Home Depot and did an amazing job on it. We would hire him again for sure."

Window Door Contractors questions, answered by experts

Typically every 10-15 years or whenever they show signs of wear and tear.

Most solar screens last 10 to 15 years, depending on the material quality, exposure to weather, and the level of maintenance. High-quality materials and regular cleaning can extend their lifespan, while harsh climates or neglect may shorten it. Routine cleaning, inspecting for damage, and avoiding harsh cleaners can help extend the lifespan of your screens.

Installing a basement window generally takes a few hours, assuming there are no structural issues you need to resolve first. If you’re a novice DIYer, the project could take longer; on the flip side, a licensed and trained window contractor may be able to replace multiple basement windows in the time it takes a homeowner to replace one.

Adding a window to a brick house costs $3,100 to $10,575. Because you’ll need to make changes to the structure of the home, the cost will include obtaining permits and hiring the best pros for this complex job. Larger windows will cost more to install, and the cost can vary based on the window frame material you choose.

Window screens can help keep some heat out of your home, which is one benefit of using them in summer. It’s also the reason experts suggest removing your screens in winter—so it’s easier for the sun’s warmth to filter into your home. This will keep you cozier and potentially reduce your heating bills.
