"It took 3 hours to get an estimate. The salesman kept pressing for information about how much money I could put as a down payment. I only got an estimate after I threatened to leave. The total cost was very high. The person who called to schedule the salesman appointment was very pushy about windows and siding. "I am incredibly impressed with 5 Star Kitchen and Bath. We had a leak in our shower, and were unable to simply repair the leak without ripping out a whole bunch of stuff. We decided to go ahead and update the bathroom and went with 5 Star. Kim was excellent in helping us design a bathroom that kept our current footprint. I am going to tell you it was quite expensive, (I'm still struggling with the cost of it, but it's part of life now I suppose) but you definitely get what you pay for. Communication in a job like this is key for a concerned homeowner, and these gentlemen always let me know what was happening and answered any questions I had. To be able to have one contact person and our new bathroom almost compete (waiting on custom shower glass!) in under two weeks has been amazing. I looked into doing the bathroom myself, but there was no way I had the contacts - or time - to go with a bunch of general contractors, plumbers, electrical, tile people, etc. Having one group complete the entire bathroom was so wonderful. I was comfortable having them in my home, and they cleaned up every day before they left. They even took care of my dog when she got a little clingy due to a thunderstorm. "The patching of the holes on the tub was visually perfect. Not a half-a** job by any means. No seams appeared in any shade of light which really impressed me. Also the tub resurfacing result was great as well. I cannot comment on the durability of this job as this was done within a month ago. Ask me in a year. But it all appears to be great and to this point I am very pleased with the service, results, and overall experience from the Tub Doctor..
The only thing I could possibly list that was not effortless was the communication after the job was completed. I never heard when the job was finished and had to call to get my invoice emailed to me. Maybe a tip would be to call the customers after you are complete and you could even take photos of the before and after (if you dont already) to then send to the customers. Maybe this was just a one off scenario with me. But this was easily solved when I called to check in with Mike.
So thank you for the great initial experience. Another plus along side of his price that made me decide to go with his company is that he did not degrade, berate, or speak Ill of any competitors. I cannot say the same thing about the competitors that I talked to for quotes before speaking with Mike Maddocks personally.
