"Everything was done on time with meticulous care taken to ensure pipes were solid and not leaking. Everything I had done was done very professionally with special care taken to make sure my job was done on time. I have had my furnace serviced since my plumbing job and that service man commented on the professional job done on my pipes. I highly recommend Monkey Wrench to anyone if you want your plumbing done on time, with the best care possible to make sure everything was done right. I cannot recommend these guys enough."

"I'm a landlord and I've worked with a lot of contractors over the years. Unfortunately, many of them don't show up on time, don't do what they say they will do, or their quality of work isn't what you'd like. So when you find a good contractor, you hold onto them! We'll that is what we found with M.A.C. We started with a bathroom remodel and they did such good work we kept giving them more business. They not only remodeled a bathroom, we then had them remold a basement and then we had them remodel the whole upstairs and do another bathroom. We are pleased with everything, the work, the price, the timeline. We will use them again on other jobs, they've won our business and we highly recommend them to you!"

"We could not be more pleased with the results. From the beginning Dan and Landon were very accommodating and easy to work with. Dan was very good about going over the bid with us until it was just what we thought we wanted and could afford. Both guys are very hard working and easy to have around. I totally trusted having them in our home. The thing I loved most was that Dan consistently updated us through email about when they were coming to work, what supplies had to be ordered and when they would arrive and what they would be doing next on the project. I also felt comfortable emailing them with questions. My husband and I are already deciding on our next update for the guys at Retrospect to do. Glad we found them."

"Wes was very knowledgeable and was able to diagnose the problem with my water heater. We went through my options and Wes educated me along the way to help me make the decision on what I should do. He even showed me what was wrong so I knew I could trust him. Iâ ve already scheduled Plumbing and Company to come back and install a new vanity sink in my bathroom. Glad to have found a plumber I can trust."

"This is the third project Powell's Pro has done for us. They are easy to work with, their crew are friendly and professional, and they do excellent work. They do a thorough job for the price quoted without trying to nickel and dime for "upgrades" to the project. We trust them in our home and value the expertise they bring to their craft."

Tub Shower Conversion questions, answered by experts

Depending on the type of renovations needed, the cost to build an ADA bathroom ranges between $700 and $8,050. On average, most homeowners pay around $4,375 for this remodel. This type of remodeling requires following strict ADA accessibility guidelines to ensure a universal design.

You can find out what type of shower valve you have by checking the manufacturer’s name and the valve’s serial number or model number. That information should be located on the back of the shower trim. You can use the name and number to do a quick online search to figure out which type of shower valve you have.

The most cost-effective method of building a shower involves using a prefabricated shower kit, which can be found at most home improvement stores. These kits include preformed shower bases, wall panels, and doors, reducing labor and material costs. You’ll most likely need to hire a local shower installer to make sure it’s installed properly, but it will be less expensive than designing and installing a custom shower.

Most shower arms are ½-inch national pipe thread (NPT). It’s best to check the thread size before buying a new shower arm or showerhead to ensure everything will fit together once you’re ready to install. Remember that older homes or those outside North America may not have standard pipe or thread sizes, which can complicate installation and make it more important to check the thread size before buying.

The amount of space needed depends on the size of the shower. For the standard 32-by-32-inch walk-in shower, you’ll need about 50 square inches. The International Residential Code requires a minimum of 24 inches of space in front of a walk-in shower’s entrance. That said, the National Kitchen & Bath Association recommends 30 inches of clearance, which is a bit more comfortable for most people.

Ideally, you’ll have enough room to open your doors and cabinets without interfering with your shower. This may not be possible in a smaller bathroom.
