"Red frog garage doors was awesome to work with. They installed a new motor on my garage door and now I can open and close my garage from my phone. They even set a timer on it so my garage door closes automatically after 10 minutes, I love it. It’s so convenient. Highly recommend this company!!!!"

"Jake did a fabulous job! He called me immediately (in the evening) and was available the next morning. He gave me a great price (I had done my research) and did the work quickly. He even replaced a few extra parts at no charge. He fixed the initial broken part but also made my garage door run smoother than it has in years. I highly recommend Garage Doctors of Utah and enjoyed working with Jake."

"The initial meeting and assessment (Jonathan) of the problems and discussion of options available were exactly what I needed...very professional and informative. The repair work took about 3 1/2 hours and was done by a guy (David) who was very experienced and a very hard worker. I had new openers, new tracks, belts, remotes, outside key pad, and a re-anchoring of the track to the door frame, and weather stripping installed. I'm impressed with the quality of the work, equipment and materials."

Garage Doors questions, answered by experts

The difference between vinyl and rubber garage door bottom seals comes down to cost, flexibility, and climate. Vinyl is the budget-friendly option, lasting well in moderate climates and resisting wear and tear. In colder climates, it can get stiff and make installation more difficult. Alternatively, rubber offers more flexibility, even in freezing temperatures, and better sticks to uneven surfaces. Rubber is more expensive but tends to be more adaptable.

You do not need to drywall over most types of garage insulation. However, doing so can increase noise reduction, make the space more attractive, and keep children and pets from touching harmful fiberglass insulation. If you’re using cellulose or some other type of blown-in insulation (fiberglass and mineral wool are common), you will need drywall to contain the insulation material.

You’ll find many of the options we listed at big-box home improvement retailers and department stores, as well as smaller independent floor specialists in your area. Many of these stores offer full-service installation of the products they sell, and others may offer to refer you to a trusted partner for installation.

You can also shop for these products online. We recommend shopping around to compare prices, service offerings, and reviews from previous customers to help make a more informed final decision.

You should let your initial paint job dry at least 12 hours before opening the door. Check your work after 12 hours have passed to confirm there are no uneven patches, or signs of the old paint showing though—if you see any, we recommend applying a second coat of paint and waiting an additional 12 hours for it to dry.

Having a garage can increase the value of your home considerably, even if the garage isn't considered living space. Many people own cars and want a secure place to park their vehicles when they are home.

If you decide to finish your garage and convert it into living space, you may affect your home's value. The livable space may increase your home's square footage, which can help its value. But, giving up the garage space may also negatively affect the sale price of your home.
