"David and his crew Ives, Victor, and Joseph did a fantastic job stabilizing our foundation. They were focused on the job and came prepared to work. They finished the job quickly and professionally. They communicated with us throughout the entire process. Once they got into the project they were able to identify areas that didn't require the repairs and David quickly explained a new plan and then, with my permission, adjusted the plan which saved us several thousand dollars. I appreciated their honesty and integrity. Thank you Groundworks for training and hiring quality people. Dennis and Ellen Porter"

"Jay Concrete and Construction was amazing. I have worked with a lot of contractors and Jay Concrete was at the next level of professionalism and skill. The job they did was professional. They answered my questions, showed up on time and kept to a budget. The amount I paid was very reasonable. They cleaned up after themselves each of the three days they were at my place. Their employees were kind and respectful and hardworking. I have recommended them to several friends. I searched for a good concrete company but finally went with Jay Concrete because of a referral from a friend. His experience mirrored mine so I know that they have a great service oriented culture. I would hire them again. Then finished result is amazing. They are now doing work for my neighbors. Thank you Sione."

"Salesi was given the project of turning an area of dirt/gravel mix of approximately 2,000 sq. ft. into a driveway.  The original area was slightly sloped.  Salesi dug the dirt out and graded the area to specs, getting it ready for the pouring of cement.  The area had a giant cedar tree stump which I paid a different tree contractor to grind the stump down to a level Salesi can work with.  After that, Salesi poured the gravel foundation on the entire area and tamped it.  He then, placed rebars approximately three feet apart all over the area.  Lastly, a 4500 psi cement was poured all over the area and had a broom finish.  Salesi was very professional in all the communication between us.  He was very courteous and arrived on time on days he said he would come, and worked long hours each day.  His crew also worked hard all day during the pouring of concrete.  I would highly recommend Salesi Construction to anybody planning to have a new driveway, or any kind of cement project they have at home or commercially.

"Sione was very professional. He and his team did great work! We had other contractors tell us they could not pour concrete on the side of our house but Sione did not hesitate when we told him that we wanted concrete there. He informed us of every step of the process and he delivered what he promised.

"The Contractor was prompt to respond the day of estimate. Vili arranged for an HVAC person to move AC so the contractor could prep and pour the concrete all the way to the house. It is a family owned business with three generations doing the work. It took two days to prep the area and frame it as well as pouring the cement. It looks great. They did an excellant job and I would highly recommend them to anyone that needs concrete work done."

"From start to finish it was a good experience. I was given an estimate, all of my questions were answered and the work to be done was explained to me in detail. Koolio is very knowledgeable, honest and straight forward. I was given a date for the work to be done and his team arrived on time and the work was done in a professional and timely manner. I am very happy with and I would most definitely recommend them!"

Concrete Leveling questions, answered by experts

Trenching and boring are two distinct methods for installing underground utilities. Trenching involves digging a channel using equipment like an excavator, trencher, backhoe, or shovel. While it is a simpler process, it causes significant disruption to the surface, landscaping, and surrounding ecosystems.

Boring, also known as directional boring, is a less invasive alternative that uses a drill to create a tunnel for utility lines without disturbing the surface. This method is more precise and is ideal for installations that need to go underneath buildings, roads, or bodies of water. Although boring is less disruptive, it is generally more expensive than trenching.

Pros often use mudjacking or polyurethane foam injection to level a sunken concrete patio. Both methods lift the slab by filling voids beneath it. After properly compacting the soil beneath it to prevent future settling, the concrete may need to be removed and re-poured for severe sinking.

A slurry of cement, sand, and water is injected beneath the concrete to lift and stabilize it.

Charges correlate with surface size, settlement depth, and access, often yielding significant savings over concrete replacement.

Mudjacking typically takes 24 to 72 hours (one to three days) to dry and cure completely before you can resume normal use. The total drying time can vary depending on the size of the project. Because the slurry mixture contains cement, it needs to harden fully to prevent the concrete slab from shifting under added weight. You should avoid walking on the concrete or placing heavy items like furniture or vehicles on the surface until it has fully set. Your concrete contractor can provide a precise timeline. As a point of comparison, if you opt for polyjacking, the polyurethane foam can dry in minutes, but it's recommended to wait about an hour before use.
