"David and his crew Ives, Victor, and Joseph did a fantastic job stabilizing our foundation. They were focused on the job and came prepared to work. They finished the job quickly and professionally. They communicated with us throughout the entire process. Once they got into the project they were able to identify areas that didn't require the repairs and David quickly explained a new plan and then, with my permission, adjusted the plan which saved us several thousand dollars. I appreciated their honesty and integrity. Thank you Groundworks for training and hiring quality people. Dennis and Ellen Porter"

"I highly recommend Concrete Transformation LLC. They repaired and coated my garage floor last month and did an exceptional job. I also hired them to coat my 2 driveways and they did a very thorough job of prepping and coating these. I will be hiring them to coat my patio concrete this Spring."

"Salesi was given the project of turning an area of dirt/gravel mix of approximately 2,000 sq. ft. into a driveway.  The original area was slightly sloped.  Salesi dug the dirt out and graded the area to specs, getting it ready for the pouring of cement.  The area had a giant cedar tree stump which I paid a different tree contractor to grind the stump down to a level Salesi can work with.  After that, Salesi poured the gravel foundation on the entire area and tamped it.  He then, placed rebars approximately three feet apart all over the area.  Lastly, a 4500 psi cement was poured all over the area and had a broom finish.  Salesi was very professional in all the communication between us.  He was very courteous and arrived on time on days he said he would come, and worked long hours each day.  His crew also worked hard all day during the pouring of concrete.  I would highly recommend Salesi Construction to anybody planning to have a new driveway, or any kind of cement project they have at home or commercially.

"Working with Will and his team couldn’t have been a better experience. He was very professional, quick to communicate with, gave us a great price, and did a high quality job on pouring us a third car cement pad. I would highly recommend Rhino Concrete to anyone who asks."

"Out of six bids for a large residential Driveway/RV pad, a large colored/stamped/sealed patio, and a basement walkout. Kiesha’s prices were the best by a good margin. I am very detailed oriented, so I made sure the quote and contract contained ALL of my expectations. I was also present for the work everyday to both ask questions and to answer questions. This helped to avoid miscommunication/misunderstanding issues a couple of times. This is important for all contractors in my opinion. Based on the other reviews, I would suggest you do the same no matter what contractor you use. Kiesha’s sons and brother finished the job a few days early (quoted as a two week job). I asked for a change order mid way through, which they gave a fair price on. No one is perfect so here are my only suggestions for how they can improve. Visual quality of the work performed is 4 stars, and clean up after the job is 4 stars. For the low price they gave me, this is not a problem. Despite these shortcomings, the value they provided was by far the best deal! All other aspects of my experience was 5 stars!!! They are all very nice people, and I was happy to give them business."

Concrete Leveling questions, answered by experts

Mudjacking can be an expensive foundation repair process, but in many cases, it’s well worth the investment. This is especially true if you’re lifting a portion of sunken foundation slab back into place. In that case, mudjacking can help avoid major structural damage and even home collapse by restoring the integrity of your structure with minimally invasive procedures. Mudjacking a concrete patio, walkway, or sidewalk can be worthwhile because it removes tripping hazards and makes your outdoor area more aesthetically appealing.

The polyurethane used for polyjacking will expand and cure in 15 to 30 minutes. After that point, your slab will be safe to walk on and even drive on in the case of a sidewalk or concrete driveway. Double-check with your concrete lifting specialist to confirm a curing timeline, as products can differ.

There is no real alternative to underpinning, although mudjacking and polyjacking are other repair methods that can add support from underneath your foundation. Rather than placing supportive piers under your structure, these involve pumping a material under your slab to lift a sunken section back into its original position. Polyjacking, in particular, is sometimes a suitable solution for stabilization issues under slab foundations, but underpinning is often accepted as the best and most permanent solution.

Pros often use mudjacking or polyurethane foam injection to level a sunken concrete patio. Both methods lift the slab by filling voids beneath it. After properly compacting the soil beneath it to prevent future settling, the concrete may need to be removed and re-poured for severe sinking.

Polyjacking and mudjacking can both be effective solutions for sinking concrete, but they have key differences. Polyjacking, which uses expanding polyurethane foam, is often considered a better option because the foam is significantly lighter than the cementitious material used for mudjacking. This reduced weight puts less pressure on the underlying soil and lowers the risk of future sinking. Polyjacking is suitable for any sinking concrete slab, while mudjacking is typically only recommended for non-structural concrete, such as sidewalks, patios, pool decks, and driveways. The primary drawback of polyjacking is its cost, which can be up to four times higher than mudjacking—as much as $25 per square foot compared to a maximum of about $6 per square foot for mudjacking.
