"They were very professional and we are very happy with the work that they did on our home. They removed the cupboard doors and drawers in our kitchen and dining room, took them to their shop and finished them there while they painted the rest of our living room and kitchen area. They cleaned up very well, the job looks very professional and definitely use them again. Communication was awesome and when they said they would be there 8:00 in the morning they were actually early and waited in the vehicle and we're at the door right at 8:00. The job was completed when they said it would be."

Kitchen Cabinet Refacing questions, answered by experts

If you're looking for ways to save money on custom cabinets, there are a few ways to cut costs without sacrificing beauty. For starters, comparing door styles to choose the most cost-effective option is a great way to save money on the overall project.

In addition, choosing a common wood species versus an exotic one will lower the price. Woods like oak and hickory are often more affordable wood choices, and the same goes for knobs, pulls, and other finishes where picking a commonly available style can reduce costs.

If you simply need to refresh the color of your cabinets, a coat of paint will make your entire room look brand-new. However, if your cabinet doors are damaged, you might consider cabinet refacing. Cabinet refacing involves replacing the doors, drawer fronts, and hardware, upgrading and repairing them. Consult a cabinet professional about the best option to upgrade your kitchen cabinetry.

Refacing costs less than replacing because it uses the existing infrastructure. However, customizations and the quality of materials can still influence the expense.

You should not clean cabinets with vinegar. While many homeowners think it is a natural cleaner, vinegar is a mild acid, not a degreaser. Since it does not cut through greasy grime, it won't effectively remove it from kitchen cabinets. For best results, use a degreasing cleaner designed for prep work, then rinse and dry thoroughly before sanding.

Yes, you can replace just your cabinet doors, assuming the structure of the cabinets themselves is sound. Replacing only the doors can save you money when renovating your cabinets. New cabinet doors cost $300 on average, but range from $200 to $400, depending on the material and size. Keep in mind that replacement doors made of materials like fiberboard and engineered wood are less expensive than wooden cabinet doors.
