"From the very beginning, Brian was amazing to work with. I wanted to install a projector along with Dolby surround in a challenging room set-up. Brian listened to what I was looking for and came back with an awesome solution. On the day of installation he and his crew were on time and did the job on time and on budget. Brian made sure I was happy with the installation and showed me how everything worked. He also followed up a few days later to make sure I was happy. I could not be happier with the work that Brian and YES Installation did!!"

"I called Oscar to install a whole house surge protector I had purchased online. He was able to install the device the next day. I had all the parts. Oscar had to cut a hole in the drywall and drill a hole thru the stud and into the panel ( not an easy job). Part of the problem was a full breaker panel, Oscar had to move 2 breakers to a sub-panel to make room for the new 50 amp breaker the surge protector needed. Oscar worked two hours to get the job done. He did a good job at a fair price, I would use him again. He installed my CUTLER HAMMER EATON CHSPT2 ULTRA WHOLE HOUSE BEST SURGE PROTECTOR."

"This was a major remodel of numerous areas – master bath, upstairs jack and Jill bath, and two bedrooms that were badly in need of repair. The project took approximately two months once the work began. It included demolition, foundation work, installation of cabinets, plumbing, wiring, painting, flooring and more. The master bath redesign called for a relocation of the shower that involved the removal of a possible load bearing wall and re-engineering of the plumbing. Gary has a great understanding of all areas of construction and is able to discuss all facets of the work in detail. He made multiple visits ahead of time to discuss various approaches and to deliver accurate estimates. The project was challenging regarding logistics, time-line, and securing of material. The numerous individual contractors included remodelers, plumbers, electricians, painters, tile layers, engineers and decorators. All were concerned with quality and had worked with Gary previously. Several times, additional contractors were utilized when the initial contractors were on other projects – that is to say that Gary has multiple contractors to call on. In addition, I hired an architectural engineer to evaluate the removal of the possible load-bearing wall, who agreed with Gary’s initial assessment. The two contractors who did the bulk of the work, and were there the entire two months were terrific to work with – conscientious, personable, and attentive and had broad expertise. Any time there was a question of how I wanted something done, they consulted me. An example would be placement of towel racks or how high to install a toilet paper holder. They had enough experience to understand men and women’s different preferences. At times, they guided me away from my original suggestions to better solutions. As expected in a project this large, there were changes made after the work began. Examples would be change in location of outlets, type of tile, etc. At one point after the wiring and support for a ceiling fan were set, I decided to move it – the crew had no hesitation doing it. Gary was at the work site consistently, overseeing the work. He was great about answering the many questions I had and accommodating my preferences. The master shower needed disability safety grab bars. Gary has a good understanding of the specific safety criteria. There were numerous times that called for creative problem solving. One example was the change of placement to the master toilet door. Another contractor had said the door placement could not be changed due to the available framing space, but Gary made it work. My own approach to this project was to be very involved, to the point of going to stone fabricators to approve final granite countertop pieces, individual placement of floor tiles, ordering mirrors, choosing paint and fixtures. I had the resources to order my own plumbing fixtures and a unique shower bench. Gary and his crews were very accommodating in my desire for close involvement and input. In one instance, I didn't like the approach the cabinet maker took to how the drawers closed (the use of magnets to provide a soft close – which is currently the most popular.) This took a visit to the cabinet maker to discover. Gary's crew was able to modify the drawers to my satisfaction. I’d like to share several pieces of insight I got from this. First, I had an interior decorator who helped make choices that were invaluable. Second, I had the time and opportunity to do a lot of research on things like types of fixtures, surfaces, and toilets. One example was a unique fold up shower bench that took me awhile to find. Although it took a lot of time and effort, I’m glad I did. A contractor can’t know every possible new product available (e.g. lighting fixtures,) or know what your particular preferences are unless you know what options are available and tell him. I’d advise the customer to do as much of your own research as practical. I wish I could have loaded the “before” photos to show the dramatic difference – the spaces truly have been transformed. I wouldn’t hesitate to use Gary again and when the time comes to remodel my kitchen, will call him."

"This company is the best. They are very polite and professional. I felt very comfortable with them in my home. I had some bad experience with some other companies before. They showed up on time. I was very impressed with their equipment it looks very powerful. When the first came in they put on boot covers which is professional. They went to work right away cleaned all the vents and air ducts. They went up to my attic and found that I had only 1 uv light. So they recommended to install another one on the other unit. They were not pushy in selling me the other uv light so I agreed to do it. They also included a free sanitization . My home now smells and feels great. I also went online and did some research on the uv lights they are amazing and used in hospitals and airports. I would recommend you guys to go with SERVICE MAN. They are polite, professional and VERY HONEST.

"This post is being shared as a mode of recommending. Perfection Roofing and Home Repairs. As a general contractors, they were great coordinator and communicators, even taking great pride in making sure we were apprised of all decisions. We were surprised to learn their estimates were even cheaper than we had expected. The project cost, 22K was 5K less than another reputable competitor.Senior citizens approach projects carefully, especially when new faces are involved. We felt comfortable at all times. A humanitarian side story involved how they took great care not to upset our aged dog."

"Great, guys came over to replace broken microwave. Issue was existing microwave was shorter than the new microwave; therefore , the existing tile needed to be trimmed back to allow the new microwave to fit. They took care of it in a few minutes - got the new microwave installed - and cleaned up as though nothing was done. Will definitely call them for future projects."

Chandelier Installation questions, answered by experts

Under-cabinet lighting is generally energy-efficient, especially when using LED technology. Compared to traditional ceiling lighting or older bulb types like halogen and incandescent, LED under-cabinet lights consume significantly less energy, which helps reduce operating costs. This applies to various forms, including strip lights, puck lights, and built-in fixtures. For an option that uses no electricity, consider battery-operated puck lights. While they require periodic battery replacements, they have the added advantage of functioning during a power outage.

Wafer lights and can lights are both recessed lights, but each has its own unique look. Wafer lights have a thin housing that connects to wires directly. Can lights have a can-like structure and fit into the opening of a ceiling.

Pendant lights make a worthy addition to your home lighting, and you can find them in almost every style. The average cost to install a light fixture is $550, and labor is the highest cost. You can DIY a light fixture replacement in an afternoon and save a couple of hundred dollars, depending on the fixture. If you’re not confident working with electrical components, an electrician in your area can easily install your pendant lighting for you.

The process to cut a circle in drywall for recessed lighting follows a process similar to the process for cutting outlet holes in drywall. The easiest option for making a perfect circle is to use a circle cutter tool. It makes a smooth circle in the drywall quickly, meaning you’ll have less cleanup work to do later. You just have to know the center point of the recessed light before adjusting the circle cutter tool’s length to create the diameter of the circle cut you need.

An exterior lighting professional will normally be able to complete hardwired lighting installation in a day or two, depending on the size of the project, and they can install battery-powered or solar-powered lights in just a few hours. DIYing the project will often take a bit longer, but you can typically install battery- or solar-powered exterior lighting in a single weekend.
