"The owner, Javier, is a nice person. He and his crew helped me with my project, which included installing drywall, tape and bedding, and applying texture. I am very happy with their work. They also painted the interior of my home and installed and painted the siding. They explained every part of the process clearly, and their communication was great throughout the project. I highly recommend this company for their quality, professionalism, and fair pricing"

"Great work! We were on a major time crunch- closed on a house on Friday and was moving in Wednesday. Needed popcorn ceiling removal on 2000+ sq ft house. They were completely done when we showed up Wednesday & looked great! They scraped, sprayed orange peel texture and painted. We loved the end result!"

Small jobs welcome

"I cannot say enough good things about the quality of work and results.. They installed ceramic tile for me as well as did some drywall patching. I was low on product with only just enough tile to complete the job and they were able to engineer the space to ensure the amount of tile I had was sufficient. The quality of work is outstanding and I am amazed at the end result. I am a perfectionist and the results were nothing short of perfect. Their customer service is awesome and they left the area absolutely clean afterwards. They offer a very fair price especially based on the quality and expertise they bring. I am happy I was able to find them on HomeAdvisor and I will be using them in the very near future to paint several areas of my home. I would HIGHLY recommend Sammy and Raymond. I am a VERY satisfied customer!"

Drywall questions, answered by experts

If you only have tiny holes in your drywall (for example, dents or nail marks), you probably won’t need a patch kit. Instead, you can plug the hole with a small amount of spackle. Once the spackle dries, you can sand the area and paint over it—just like you would in the steps outlined above.

It is possible to apply plaster on the interior or exterior of your home, but we don’t recommend it. Plaster is easy to apply in theory, but in reality, it can be a challenging material to work with, and it’s difficult to get the finished product to look clean, even, and smooth. Many DIYers end up calling in a professional afterward to touch up the area or even redo it entirely because of mistakes they made in the process. Hiring a plaster pro will cost more, but it’s usually the best option to achieve high-quality results.

In some minor cases, you can DIY drywall repair with minimal time and money spent. This method is best when you have a hole made by a singular problem, such as accidental furniture moving, and not a continuous problem, like a rodent infestation.

Knowing what product to use is crucial. For example, small holes only need spackle, whereas large holes might need a new piece of drywall. You can flex your DIY abilities on this project, but if you’d like a second opinion or have a more significant problem, it’s best to call in a drywall repair pro.

You should not leave drywall outside, especially overnight or in a wet, humid climate. Exposure to rain and humidity can damage the drywall, weakening its structural integrity and making it susceptible to mold growth. If you must leave drywall outside during a project, be sure to cover it with a tarp or keep it inside a storage shed to protect it. Even drywall intended for exterior projects requires a protective moisture barrier. For best results, store any extra drywall in a dry area away from the elements.

You do not need to drywall over most types of garage insulation. However, doing so can increase noise reduction, make the space more attractive, and keep children and pets from touching harmful fiberglass insulation. If you’re using cellulose or some other type of blown-in insulation (fiberglass and mineral wool are common), you will need drywall to contain the insulation material.
