"TeamEnoch work quality and cost were the best. Installation Evan and Richard took care everything much better than I expected. I have had American Home Shield who assigned several different contactors to fix my HVACs. Their (AHS contractors) work quality was poor (I would rate them as 2-star the most). I highly recommend TeamEnoch for HVAC work. In fact I will hire them again to install the 2nd HVAC for my house in the near future."

"Atomic called me before HomeAdvisors even did. AMAZING. I've used 5 different HVAC companies in the last 3 years and none have been more straight forward and honest than Atomic. MY HVAC abruptly went out and I had a sweaty night in my house. I saw that the website says call us anytime 24/7. So I did....at 3:45am. I didn't bother leaving a message because it's obviously a gimmick and no one will get back to me until they wake up, right? WRONG. Ashley sent me a text 10 minutes later and let me know I could text my issue. I did and we have a full blown conversation at 4am. Now I don't want to set expectations high as this can't possibly be the norm...but I wouldn't be surprised if it is for Atomic. I am absolutely blown away. The amazing Mr. Dale just left my house about an hour ago with my AC running colder than ever and going above and beyond to make some recommendations and teach me a little something about how HVAC's work. So Ashley listened to me complain at 4am...and Dale showed up at 9am and fixed it. I'm a customer for life! Thank you Atomic!!"

Texas HVACR Pros (legally operating as BGKC Air LLC) was founded right here in Granbury, Texas by Ben — a licensed HVAC and refrigeration technician who believes in doing things the right way. After years in the industry seeing how large companies prioritize upsells over honest repairs, Ben set out to build a different kind of HVAC company.\n\nThe result is Texas HVACR Pros — a locally owned team that shows up on time, diagnoses accurately, gives you an honest quote, and fixes it right the first time. We specialize in both residential HVAC and commercial refrigeration, which means we're one of the few contractors in Hood County that can handle your home's AC and your restaurant's walk-in cooler.\n\nWe're not a call center. We're your neighbors. When you call, you talk to someone who lives in this community and cares about your experience.\n

"Had my AC returns and ducts cleaned by “Love to Clean”. I am very pleased with the service provided by Joe Love and company. They showed up on time as scheduled, were efficient in getting the job done, covered furniture as needed, vacuumed the floors and cleaned up after themselves. We are very pleased with the service they provided and would recommend “Love to Clean” for your duct cleaning needs."

Heating and Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

No. Evaporator coils are designed to work with specific refrigerant types, and they are rated by what kinds of refrigerant they use. It’s indicated with an “R” code. It’s important to match your evaporator coil and refrigerant or your system will not work properly. An AC technician can tell you what type of refrigerant your system needs and what evaporator coils will work with it.

Your AC might not cool after a power outage because of a tripped circuit breaker, blown fuse, or damage to the compressor or capacitor. If you notice your AC not working after a power outage, in most cases, the breaker has tripped or the system has built-in brownout and blackout protection. Reboot the AC by turning it off at the thermostat, resetting the circuit breaker, and waiting 30 minutes to turn the AC on again.

Many HVAC manufacturers provide warranties that encompass the cost of a new compressor, with durations ranging from 5 to 10 years, depending on the brand. These warranties cover critical components such as the compressor, condenser, connecting tubing, evaporator, and refrigerant charge. Moreover, they often include the necessary labor for replacement or repairs. Keep in mind that premium-brand compressors may offer lifetime warranty options. It's essential to note that these warranties rarely cover labor costs.

Yes, it’s important to turn off your AC sometimes to give it a break and prevent it from freezing up. If your AC runs all the time, your system’s parts will wear down quicker, which may mean that you need to replace it sooner. Plus, using your AC constantly uses more electricity and leads to higher energy bills.

AC drip pans last five to 20 years, depending on the material. Plastic AC drip pans last five to 10 years, while metal pans can last over 10 years. Plastic AC drip pans are vulnerable to cracking in response to temperature changes. Metal drip pans are prone to rusting over time, which can also lead to leaks.
