"Highly recommend using Discount Fence! Roy was amazing- he is very professional and gave us some great advise. We wanted a fence that would keep our dog in the yard while still allowing us to watch the deer. Installation took one day, and Roy's team left no mess. Beyond happy with the quality and aesthetic of this fence!"

"Prestige Fence & Deck is a great company, Jon and his crew did an excellent job replacing my old wooden fence, I was so impressed with their workmanship that I had them rebuild my Patio deck and gazebo, they did a fantastic job on both and added beauty to my back yard, plus the price was super reasonable. "I had a great experience with Morriss Fence. They replaced my existing fence and the entire process was smooth from start to finish. Their customer service was excellent — responsive, friendly, and easy to work with throughout the project. The crew was professional, efficient, and clearly took pride in their work. The installation was completed quickly without sacrificing quality, and the final result looks fantastic. They also did a great job with cleanup, leaving the area neat and spotless when they were done. Their pricing was very fair and the workmanship truly stands out. In fact, even my neighbor across the street commented on how great the fence looks and how fast the installation was. I would absolutely recommend Morriss Fence to anyone looking for quality work, reliable service, and great value."

"It was a small job and we had trouble generating interest.
NW Fence made a fair bid and did what they said they would do.
However, when dealing with them, be aware of a couple of things.
The crew of 2 arrived and showed up in our back yard without calling or ringing the doorbell. They left without checking in.
If you decide to deal with them, be sure you get all the details right. Don't assume anything.
And ask them to communicate."

Customers say: Quality work

"These guys did an outstanding job! During the estimate, Mason provided us with different options based on materials and price. Even during the project, the crew cleared an area in our backyard that was not part of the project. Mason asked us first if we would like that done and did not charge us extra for doing so. The quality of workmanship is amazing!"

Fencing questions, answered by experts

Fences made out of redwood, cedar, or pressure-treated pine are the most durable. These materials can last anywhere between 15 to 40 years so long as they are properly maintained. Make sure to clean your fence regularly and pressure wash once a year. After pressure washing, apply a sealant and/or fresh paint to keep it looking fresh.

You’ve likely been considering lots of wood fence ideas for your yard. There are many reasons why people choose split rail fences time and again. For one, they’re one of the most wallet-friendly fencing options, especially since you don’t need to use much hardware and setting the posts doesn’t require concrete or foam. So if you have a large property and want to fence it in, your best bet may be a split rail fence.

Split rail fencing is a type of post and rail fencing. Other post and rail fences include corral board and post and dowel. Post and rail fencing is the term used for any type of fence with vertical posts, horizontal rails, and nothing else (specifically excluding pickets). So, technically, a split rail fence is a post and rail fence.

While wood fencing is versatile and durable, there are other fence material options to consider. Check out our comprehensive list of the Best Types of Fences for Your Home to browse through some other fencing materials. Popular types include metal fencing, such as aluminum and chain link, and wood alternatives, such as vinyl or composite fencing.

Most homeowners don't need to inform their neighbors before constructing a fence, according to the law, but you will need to make sure that you’re building on the property line or on your side of the property line. Otherwise, the neighbor could complain, which would require you to tear down and reinstall the fence. In any case, keeping them in the loop is the neighborly thing to do!

Whether you inform your neighbors or not, always use property records and a land survey to ensure your fence stays within your property boundaries.
