"We used Lonestar Electricians to set up a new induction kitchen range. Eric did an excellent job! Later that evening we had an unrelated electrical question. We gave him a call and he was so very helpful with some advise on how to handle the situation. We know who to call now when we need any electrical work!"

"They came out with a group of helper able to work simultaneously on inside and outside electrical wiring. The job was completed very fast. Good supervision and execution: the project consisted of installing 1 outdoor security light and drilling a hole to inside to connect to AC-plug outlet inside the house. It works great and was accomplished fast."

"A & A GenPro Electrical is the company if you need to install an Emergency Standby Power Generator. It's been a pleasure working with Andrew, Ashton, Tim, Rocky, Eric, and Pham. They just finished our install today, just in time for Harvey, if he comes this way. They handled everything; slab, generator placement, electrical, plumbing a new gas meter, all inspections, and an extensive full-load test. We highly recommend A & A GenPro Electrical if you're looking for a fixed generator. UPDATE 08312017: At times you find out more about a company after the install. I would give A & A GenPro Electrical 10 Stars if I could. Our generator developed a battery drain problem after the first night of continuous use, and despite the conditions associated with Hurricane Harvey, they showed up. Bob, Ashton, and Eric did the troubleshooting and the subsequent fix. Amazing folks who go above and beyond the call. Our Kohler got us through two more days/nights, and our power came back on last night, and it's now in standby mode."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

When planning electrical projects in Santa Fe, consider the area’s high humidity, frequent lightning storms, and proximity to the Gulf, which can accelerate corrosion. Use moisture-resistant wiring and install surge protectors. Local permit and inspection schedules must be followed, and grounding may need special attention in clay soil. In rural areas, check for differences in electrical service standards compared to more developed neighborhoods to ensure compliance.

Helpful?

In Santa Fe, you can safely address minor electrical tasks like replacing switch plates, testing GFCI outlets after heavy rain, or resetting a breaker following a brief outage. Always turn off the main breaker and use a voltage tester, especially in older homes with aluminum wiring. Avoid any repairs involving outdoor wiring or persistent flickering lights, as these may signal moisture intrusion or corrosion from the local climate.

Helpful?

After completing electrical work in Santa Fe, test all new outlets and fixtures, especially those exposed to humidity or salt air. Update your electrical panel labels to reflect changes, and photograph completed work for your records. Schedule a seasonal inspection before hurricane season, check outdoor wiring for corrosion, and confirm all required inspections are finalized. Notify your insurance provider about any significant electrical upgrades for proper coverage.

Helpful?

In Santa Fe, electrical panel upgrades and whole-home surge protection are trending due to frequent Gulf storms. Homeowners often choose smart home automation, energy-efficient LED retrofits, and weatherproof outdoor wiring for patios and pool areas. Solar-ready wiring and backup generator hookups are also popular, especially in neighborhoods prone to power outages and humidity-related electrical issues unique to the Gulf Coast region.

Helpful?

In Santa Fe, electrical upgrades like adding circuits for HVAC, pool pumps, or water heaters can impact your home’s overall system performance. For example, a new generator hookup may require adjustments to your main panel and affect sensitive electronics. Review how new loads interact with existing wiring, especially in homes with older infrastructure, to prevent overloading and ensure compatibility with smart home systems.
