All went well initially during the demo and sheet rocking phase but when they started doing more detail and finish work, they were fairly sloppy and got upset if we pointed out problems. It turned into a nightmare when they sanded the drywall with the central heat on and all of the vents open throughout our two-story house. Everything on both floors was quickly covered in a fine white "dust" and Christmas was upon us! It took a full day of two of us dusting and vacuuming to clean up all of the dust. When I tried to speak with the owner, Zack, about the need for them to be more careful and respectful of our living space, he became angry and defensive and said that we were too demanding. It escalated to the point where he and his crew packed up and left and we never heard from them again (although he said they needed "a break" and he would call me in a day or two). In summary, all of the men were very pleasant with the exception of Zack, who was very prone to getting upset without being provoked. I believe that this company was out of it's "element" in doing a renovation on a higher end home with the owners continuing to live in it. Before departing on their final day, Zack did tell me that most of their interior renovations consisted of converting garage space into living space and that there wasn't the need to be so careful and mindful of any mess that was being created. I would not use them for any interior work on a higher end home, however their portfolio of work done on exterior work and patios was quite nice and much more likely to be something that they would do well. In the end, we hired a couple of subs to finish the work and the renovation turned out great. If you hire this company, I would be sure to have all of your expectations written out in detail and agreed upon before hiring them. The Technicians arrived on time, and installed the unit. It is now running quite well. The temperature in the house has dropped from 89 to 82 already. We are very pleased with the service we received. The gentlemen who worked on our unit were very friendly, courteous, and efficient. I used my Angie's List coupon and saved ten percent on the cost of this new condenser. That really was a nice bonus for us, and it helped out a lot! USE THIS REALTOR! Connie is amazing. She priced our house higher than other realtors and told us exactly what we had to do to sell it at that price without spending much--then she rolled up her sleeves and personally helped us do it! After six inactive months trying sell-by-owner to save money, we followed all of Connie's instructions and she had the house showing almost daily and sold in a matter of weeks--over the holidays!--at a very fair price that was more than worth the money I was trying to save on FSBO. I was concerned at first because we were not near her home base but she assured us that she would do whatever it takes, and she was 110% on board every day. Very hands-on. She oversaw the closing process with great insight and continued to check on us through the moving process. And on top of all that, she is a HOOT! Great sense of humor. I have no reservation about giving Connie Shugart my very strongest recommendation.

I called a home warranty company that insures my home for repairs and they assigned Smith Heat/AC from Killeen to do the repairs. They called back and said that they could get to it until Tuesday because of the weekend and Holiday and I said we have small children living here and needed service A.S,A.P. and the lady taking the call, said to contact my warranty company again and state that it was an emergency, so they would get paid for weekend rates and I made the call and she later assured me that she got the new fax and a repairman would get out there that evening. Before he showed up, my son (heating and A/C specialist) came over and found a fan motor wire had fallen into the fan and rewired it and replaced a condenser that had failed due to the excessive heat. The unit started cooling again, but very slowly. He didn't have his gauges to check the freon, but saw bubbles in the sight glass. The repairman showed up and after talking to my son, checked the freon and said it was fine and suggested cleaning the coils, but he couldn't do it because maintenance was not covered. I paid him my $45.00 deductible and he wrote down that "HE" repaired a low voltage wire and condenser stating that he had to include that to get "His money". Now a week later, his company has sent me a bill for $50.00, account my warranty company wouldn't pay for the weekend rate. I tried to explain to Mr. Greg Smith that perhaps they were working off the original service call before I made the second call and his call service assured me that everything was O.K for the repairs. He was rude over the phone and handled the situation very unprofessionally, saying that he would no longer return to my home for any repairs. I told him, he was no longer allowed on my property and I was not paying the $50.00. I now have the second letter in hand from the warranty company that should straighten out the billing, but I will be sure to inform them that this company isn't trustworthy and is billing them for repairs that they did not actually do. Do youself a favor and "DON'T" let these un-professionals work for you. "},"url":"https://www.angi.com/companylist/us/tx/killeen/smith-heating-and-air-cond-reviews-5621410.htm"},"position":10}]}

Bob and BJ were friendly and professional. As a military family we move a lot and at times at the most inopportune times, such as during the holidays. They were able to fit us in even with a busy holiday schedule. We can t thank them enough and will definitely use them again in the future.

"Mark was on time and came prepared to work! He mulched our entire front yard and took care in doing it. He kept everything neat through the process and respected the plants that he had to work around. Our palmetto tree was in bad shape and needed trimming. He made it look beautiful again. He worked most of the day and returned bright and early the next day to finish up. He also cut the grass in our backyard and edged. He was mannerly and the most important thing he was not in a hurry to finish. He was more interested in doing a good job. We plan on Mark coming back in September or October to replace rotten wood on our deck."

"Bottom line: Shane is disorganized, not as experienced as he claims, and unprofessional in his response to criticism. He seems like a nice enough guy but I will never use him again and I would advise anyone that continues to use him (as my friend who referred me to him is doing) that you should only use him for basic simple stuff and know that he has poor follow through. I used him July 2020 to install recessed lighting on the first floor of my 2 story house. It was only after drilling four holes in the ceiling that Shane realized he could not connect the wires because of the jousts set every 2 feet apart in my ceiling. He remarked that he had never seen a house like mine where I had beams going across every 2 feet. (something I later found out if farily common and shows his lack of experience). He said he would do some research and get back to me. Meanwhile, I asked for a second opinion by the electrician contracted by the home builder. He told me that if Shane had gone up in the attic, (whicch he never did), he would have realized that I had jousts set every 2 feet and would have then known, up front, that he was going to have to make more holes in the ceiling. The second electrician told me that I would need a minimum of six additional holes to complete my lighting project. When Shane finally got back to me, he said he had a friend who did dry wall and would reduce his cost for me and that I would need only 3 additional holes that needed repair. I told Shane that I find that hard to believe when the contracted builder's electrician said a minimum of 6 more holes. I told him that I would be willing to continue with him if he could guaranteee that only 3 more holes were needed and he would pay additional cost if more holes were needed. I never heard back from him. Meanwhile I had 4 recessed lights that were decorative in my ceiling but no function. One of the holes was up against the joust so that I could not rest the recessed light flush against the ceiling so Shane's work had a slightly unfinished look, never mind not functional. I called Shane twice and left a message. I spoke to a business colleague of his who referred me to him and told her that Shane was unprofessional but if he was not going to charge me, then I would not complain. I just assumed he felt guilty regarding his inexperience and the fact that I was referred by a mutual friend. Fast forward, ONE YEAR LATER! Shane calls to tell me that his receptionist was going over his books and found several unpaid invoices. I told Shane that I never received an invoice and that he ghosted me. He told me that he never received my calls and I said that does not explain why he would not call to complete his work. He argued that I told him that I did not want him to complete the work. I said this is a case of he said, she said and given that this happened ONE YEAR AGO, both of our memories could be off. He insisted he sent an invoice. I said I never received an invoice and he called me a liar so I told him to find the email he sent me and resend it. He insisted that if I wanted him to finish the job he would come back and do it so he could get paid. I said that I did not like our conversation and was not planning to ever use him again. He called me cheap. In the end, I paid him for the minor work he did with GFCI outlets and wall timer switches and we agreed he would not bill me for the ceiling work. I could write off his lack of experience and even his lack of organization but I draw the line at his unprofessional ghosting, his name calling and his general lack of willingness to accept his own culpability."
