Called them when I was getting the run-around from another granite installer. David was VERY helpful, he called the granite showroom about some granite we'd seen and were interested in and informed me that the granite we'd seen was on special from the showroom and that there was only 1 slab from that lot, we needed 2 slabs. The other installer had failed to mention there was only 1 slab of this very distinctive granite when giving me a very nebulous verbal bid, or pass along the "special" pricing. We went to the showroom shortly after this and Jenn was very helpful and when we showed her our cabinets immediately led us to a granite that we LOVED! And love even more now. She also helped us with some initial design ideas for the "mural" in the backsplash. Setup our in home meeting/measuring with Terry who was on time and very professional. Made our appointment for the layout and that went fairly well, though we had to call over one of the cutters to give Jenn, my wife and I hand in how to lay it out. Unfortunately, we lost a couple of the areas of coloration that my wife and I really liked, but we didn't want to buy 4 slabs. Be prepared to make some compromises, or show up with the BIG wallet. They suggested their subs, but let us use our own where we wanted. Jose & Thomas showed up for the install with a panel truck (no trailer so your granite will not get chipped on the way to the install). They were AMAZING on the demo, that job was done in an hour. So just pay them the modest fee, and enjoy more time with your friends/family. The granite was installed and they were on their way in less than 3.5 hours in total. Only issue was we had been to Arizona tile and liked their "Crema Marfil", and really wanted to give them the business because their gentleman had been SUPER helpful with the mural and backsplash design. We communicated that we wanted to use this supplier to Jenn several times, and then she said she was getting the materials from a different distributor. Since we'd been looking at this Arizona's tiles for several weeks while going through the process we felt strongly. So I communicated to them that I'd pickup the tile for the backsplash. They had no problems with me doing this. The installers put down runners to protect my hardwood floors and cleaned up after themselves. They also hauled off the old counter tops instead of leaving them in from of my house. They did chip the edge of my granite but did send someone out to repair it and it looks good. The one negative that I can think of is that if you don't live in Dallas, it can be an issue selecting your granite slabs. I live in McKinney and the drive to the slab yards can take up to an hour depending on traffic. They close at 5 pm and are only open half a day on Saturday. It can be an issue if you have to work. We hired Bob for a bathroom remodel a little over a year ago. Less than a year after the bathtub was installed the granite front literally fell off the front of the bathtub and broke in half. We had reservations of the method of using heavy duty Velcro to secure the granite to the tub, and...

Excellent! Bobby and his wife arrived right on time. Bobby determined that the cracks in the tub were minor and just needed surface repair, rather than a whole tub make-over. He also determined that the leak in the tub was probably happening because of the drain plug rather than the cracks in...

I used a granite installer. They were here in October of 2015. It cost fifteen hundred about. They came when they said they would be here and done when they said they would be. The bad is the request of the slab a certain way but they were just minor things. There were two technicians.

Arrived on-time. Very courteous and knowledgeable. Sealed marble in our new master bath floor, tub and shower. Steam cleaning was not done because it was a new install. Discussed proper cleaning techniques for marble.

"In August 2022, after hearing about DFW Improved on a home improvement radio show, we entered into two contracts with them for a roof replacement and interior water damage repair. These contracts were based on insurance-approved scopes following the 2021 ice storm. DFW Improved began the roof replacement project first. Following the replacement, the roof continued to leak due to their failure to replace the flashings. Despite corresponding work items in the insurance scope (confirmed later by the insurance adjuster's email), the DFW Improved salesperson insisted that flashing was not part of the roof. He threatened legal action if further payment was not made. Prior to this, they presented two identical model shingles as choices, which their own roof subcontractor on-site disclosed. Upon our inquiry via email, instead of addressing the issue, the salesperson accused us of defaming their company. Furthermore, they quoted $900 for a non-existent siding hole and estimated $25,000 for a bookcase, which their own designer valued at $6,000 to $7,000. While the roof leaking issue was still unresolved, DFW Improved began interior work. Instead of submitting the agreed supplement request as agreed, they skipped necessary steps to cut water-damaged drywall. To prevent wasted effort, we instructed workers to stop. The salesperson responded, stating that workers would not proceed with any work not approved by insurance. However, he emailed the insurance company claiming that the work had already been completed, causing significant confusion for us. During the halt period, we sent out numerous issues such as broken air pipes, cracked roof rafters, missing insulation, roof holes, missing felt paper, and a leaking roof. However, we received no response other than prevaricate explanations and demanding for money. We escalated to the DFW Improved upper manager who responded that they are their best team members and disregarded our request for an alternative project team. DFW Improved abandoned the projects and warranties, and initiated separation in December 2022. Both parties engaged in negotiations over separation costs. During this process, DFW Improved unexpectedly sent four individuals to our house, claiming to inspect texture work and demanding payment. Subsequently, DFW Improved placed a lien on our house, and their lawyer sent a demanding letter stating they would auction our house and (quote)“sue Vigorously” if payment was not made, despite the mediation/arbitration clause clearly outlined in the contracts. Under this pressure, we filed a claim in Tarrant County Small Claims Court, where the lien was placed. Later, their lawyer filed a motion to transfer the case to Collin County, where DFW Improved is based. We refused to comply with a demand for $5,000 and the confidentiality requirement during mediation. DFW Improved filed a new case simultaneously in the higher Tarrant County District Court, demanding a new amount of $59,845 and seeking to enforce the lien, providing no explanation for this amount. According to their co-owner's email, their accounting book calculated that we owed them a total of $1,260 (detailed below). During pre-mediation discussions, their lawyer attempted to justify their request for $8k, citing that a significant portion was allocated to attorneys' fees. We did not engage their lawyer to send us a threatening letter containing false statements about suing us without mediation. Their lawyer also declined $65 public mediator service provided by the Tarrant Small Claims Court. Additionally, they unilaterally escalated the dispute to a higher court. We have never been late with their payments. In fact, DFW Improved made a math error by crediting the blind work twice. When we brought this to their attention, DFW Improved spent extra time correcting the invoice, and their salesperson initiated an internal investigation. Any delay was certainly not caused by us. DFW Improved filed a lien attempting to collect the costs again, despite already receiving payment. What truly stood out was his deep knowledge and genuine care throughout the process — always advising us on what would work best and what to avoid, never rushing, always thoughtful. Once the project kicked off, Max was incredibly hands-on. He was there every day, closely supervising the work, ensuring everything met the highest standards. His crew mirrored his commitment — precise, professional, and clearly passionate about their craft. The final result? Absolutely stunning. Our kitchen came out better than we could have imagined — elegant, modern, and full of warmth. It has completely transformed our home. If you’re thinking about remodeling your kitchen, stop searching. Trust Max. He is truly one of the best in the industry, and it was a pleasure having him lead our project. Can’t recommend him enough!"

"The lawn clean-up went well, he talked me out of removing the pool and deck. I bought fencing supplies and hard ware to replace privacy fencing. After the fence was done decided not to have the wall repaired at this time. I paid $3000 down another $5000 once the cleanup was underway when finished I was suppose to pay an additional $7000 but accidentally wrote it for $8000 the contractor did not correct me or say anything. I don't feel that the services provided were worth the money paid"

FAQs for marble and granite service projects in Sachse, TX
Installing a marble backsplash costs about $2,200 on average, ranging from $600 to $6,000, depending on the variety of marble and the labor costs to prep and install.
Common types of marble used for backsplashes include:
Makrana: $12 per square foot
Pink: $25 per square foot
Carrara: $40 per square foot
Statuatrio: $50 per square foot
Cultured: $65 per square foot
Travertine: $75 per square foot
Danby: $80 per square foot
Calacatta: $180 per square foot
Marble countertops cost$3,000 on average, ranging from about $2,000 to $5,000, depending on the type of marble, square footage, location, and whether you use tiles or slabs. Another major cost factor to consider is the grading of the marble, which determines its quality level.
Use this grading system when selecting marble for countertops:
Grade A: Nearly perfect with subtle veining
Grade B: Minor flaws such as pits, fissures, or blotches
Grade C: Minor and major flaws like chipping and cracks requiring repair
Grade D: Significant damage needing repair, with dark veining and pronounced colors
Granite and marble compare well against each other in terms of price, durability, and aesthetic appeal. Deciding which one is better depends on your personal style and preference. Both materials resist damage like chips and cracks well. You should seal both material types against staining and etching, but they’re still susceptible if oil, wine, coffee, tomato sauce, or juice are left on the countertop long enough. As material and installation costs range similarly, the deciding factor is your budget, design, and preferences.
Installing granite kitchen countertops costs about $3,250, ranging from $2,000 to $4,000, depending on the quantity and quality of the granite, use of granite tile or granite slabs, the type of granite, and its color and texture.
Varieties of granite include:
Alaska white: $35 per square foot
Ubatuba: $30–$60 per square foot
Silver cloud: $35–$40 per square foot
Absolute black: $45–$60 per square foot
Black galaxy: $50–$70 per square foot
Blue Louise: $70–$100 per square foot
Crema Bordeaux: $80 per square foot
Solarius: $60 per square foot
Overall, granite tends to cost more than marble. Prices for each material will fluctuate depending on the source of the stone, your location, shipping costs, and the thickness of the material. Labor to install marble or granite countertops typically ranges from $35 to $45 per hour.
Granite and marble tile and slab costs compare as follows:
Marble tile: $7–$10
Granite tile: $5–$15
Marble slab: $25–$60
Granite slab: $50–$100
