From our first visit to installation was only three weeks. We supplied our own new undermount sink, and reused our exisiting faucets etc. The team did an excellent job on installation day. Old countertops removed, new ones installed. One of our pieces was a very odd shape due to the kitchen layout and despite the laser measurements we had to have some cutting into the dry wall. They did a great job of levelling the countertop even though our cabinets were not all at exactly the same level. And the pattern had been laid out on the slabs to give an extremely good join from one piece to the next, not easy with the granite we chose. I was impressed by the attention to detail of the installers, and the way they finished off the job and cleared up at the end of day. Great price and good service, very impressed. Reading some of the (albeit older) negative reviews, I need to stress how important it is to sort out before the install EXACTLY what you want done - where holes are going to be drilled etc - and not leave it to the day of the install before thinking about these things. My wife and I had no idea where to begin. After getting almost desperate we looked out on Angie's list for a contractor and ran across Vivienne's name. I'm so glad we did. Vivienne is a kitchen designer, not a contractor. She specialized in giving her customers their dream kitchen and she delivers. She guided us through the entire design, and remodel. We would not have our kitchen today if it wasn't for Vivienne. Our budget wasn't a small budget but it also wasn't a large one for a major kitchen remodel. And she was able to keep us in line so we didn't spend too much. It started out with Vivienne coming to the house to see the kitchen. She immediately had some ideas. We told her the budget and in the end we were $500 over budget but that's because we had extra granite and put it in a bar upstairs. I controlled the budget but Vivienne guided us when she thought we were spending too much. When she told us her fee it seemed like a lot at the time. But in the end it was the best money we ever spent. We got so much more than we expected for the money she charged. She tailored the kitchen to our budget and needs. She provided 3 different designs and we choose from those 3. Of course the design she liked best, we liked also. She displays them on paper, computer generated. Vivienne had ideas such as a flat countertop instead of a bar that we had with the old kitchen that we can put stools under. We use that counter more than anything else in our house. We never would have had that if we tried to do this on our own. She strategically placed our cooktop with the new range hood so it had a view from the living room rather than be hidden behind a wall like it was for years. I thought the cost to move the cook top to the other side of the kitchen would be a bit high but she assured us it wouldn't be bad and it wasn't. She got rid of the old pantry and had it replaced by cabinets. The flow of the new kitchen is just perfect. So much more room than before. Speaking of cabinets. She took control of ordering the cabinets. One night we met her at a local store and for an hour she gave us a great lesson on cabinets. Vivienne always took time with our questions. I was shocked at how much there was to know about cabinets so they look custom and within our budget. We received discounts on appliances through her builders discount. We also had trouble picking the granite since there was so much to choose from. Again, Vivienne guided us through that task and now we have the granite we love at the price within our budget. Here is what Vivienne provides: Initial consultation. Once you decide you want her services she comes back to the house to talk about what you are looking for and to take measurements. Initial 3 designs that are cheaper, on budget and more expensive that you can choose from. You pick the design you want and tweek it to your liking. Although we had very little to tweek. A folder with all kinds of views of the kitchen. A folder with installation instructions for the cabinets. A folder with all the electrical plans. Set up consultation for countertop. Introduced us to a salesman for appliances. Met with us for cabinet lessons. Ordered cabinets. Handled the granite and met with us to verify how we wanted the granite installed with the installation guys. This included several estimates on granite because we couldn't decide what we wanted. Was on hand at the tile store to guide us with the tile we selected for the backsplash and floors. Was on hand when the cabinets were delivered to make sure we got what we ordered. Was present when cabinets were installed to make sure everything was installed correctly. Was present when countertops were installed to make sure everything was in place. All the sub contractors that worked on the house were so impressed with the designs Vivienne provided them. They knew exactly where everything was supposed to go. The subs that worked with Vivienne before all said, "Oh, it's Vivienne. We will have all we need." The comfort you feel from those statements at a scary time are so relieving. Everything was included in the design from cabinets, to electrical, to tile, to flooring, to appliances and on and on. Because of those designs and the great people I know and the great people she put us in contact with, the kitchen was pretty much done in 4 weeks. I know we were lucky but when you have everything in place from the start it works. Vivienne handles that. I know I'm rambling but if you are like us and you need a kitchen and you don't know how to begin a scary process you are making a huge mistake by not contacting Vivienne. She changed our house and our lives with her creativity and professionalism and I can't tell you how much I appreciate all she did for us. If I had to do it all over again I would not change a thing. If I had another kitchen or bathroom to remodel I would call Vivienne in an instant. If I was buying a new house I wouldn't have a problem buying one that needed a kitchen remodel because I know Vivienne would be in my corner. I can't say enough about her. Craig coordinated installation of the granite, sinks, and the frameless glass door. He and his crew completed the remainder of the remodel. Since I wanted the same color granite as the kitchen granite for the bathroom countertops, Craig was able to obtain the bid from that company for me at the beginning. I located a slab I liked they picked it up. Craig coordinated with them for the measurement and installation of the granite after the cabinets were installed. After I selected tile for the showers and tub surround to coordinate with my cabinets, countertops, and existing tile floors, Craig provided me with a bid for the selected tile. Once I approved the bid, Craig picked up the tile and delivered it to my garage. The new tubs, faucets, and other plumbing items were also delivered to my garage. This remodel required a lot of coordination between Craig and myself, not only with regard to the tile selection but also the selection of new tubs. Once the cabinet, granite, sink, and faucet were installed in the half bath, it was complete. The one-piece fiberglass combination tub/shower enclosure in the upstairs bath was replaced by a self-skirted rectangular tub with a tile enclosure. They stripped the shower/tub area to the studs all the way up to the ceiling, installed the new tub and leveled it. They installed greenrock (so the cement board would bring the walls out to the proper depth around the tub for tile) then cement board. Then they created two recessed boxes in the long shower wall, tiled, grouted, and sealed the new enclosure, re-installed the plumbing and shower curtain rod, and touched up the paint. The master bath (MB) shower was completely demolished, including the shower pan, and rebuilt. Both the shower area and the MB tub area were stripped to the studs, with the shower stripped to the ceiling. Rebuilding the shower was the most complicated because building the pan is a multi-step process of layers of concrete (sloped from the walls to the drain), impermeable membrane, more concrete and installation of the upper drain, with drying times in between. They installed cement board, including the ceiling over the shower, and made the recessed boxes then tiled, grouted, and sealed the shower. The shower ceiling used the same 13-inch tiles as the tub surround and skirt, and the shower floor was tiled with 2”x2” tiles. The old oval-shaped self-skirted MB tub was replaced by a drop-in oval tub. They built a deck and skirt for the tub, installed the new tub and leveled it, tiled the tub deck, reinstalled the faucets, and connected the tub drain. They then installed cement board and tiled, grouted, and sealed the tub area, including the skirt. While they were careful in all phases of the remodel, I was quite impressed with the care taken in installing the tile in the upstairs bathroom. The shower/tub area is essentially three walls of 13-inch tile to the ceiling, and a level was used along the top and across the face of every row to ensure the tiles were straight, level, and even. The MB shower didn’t require this treatment since I chose 18-inch tiles for the walls. Tiling the shower ceiling was another impressive job. They told me they mix the thin set a little thicker so it will hold the tiles without sagging. For all tiling, strips of painter’s tape were used to tape each tile to its neighbors on all sides and hold the spacers in place. Craig and his crew do an excellent job of cleaning up. Besides quality work, one of the other things I appreciate about Craig is the thoroughness of his explanations in advance of the work. There are never any surprises with Craig. They just have one small thing to complete and it will be finished. … I love my new bathrooms!"},"url":"https://www.angi.com/companylist/us/tx/rowlett/hamilton-interior-finishes-reviews-340892.htm"},"position":6},{"@type":"ListItem","item":{"@type":"LocalBusiness","name":"StoneTex LLC","address":{"@type":"PostalAddress","addressRegion":"TX","addressCountry":"US"},"review":{"@type":"Review","author":{"@type":"Person","name":"Donna H."},"reviewBody":"Craig worked closely with StoneTex for all phases of the countertops. Because I was using the same color granite, the process was considerably shortened. Once the cabinets were installed, Pio from StoneTex came to take the measurements for the countertops. The Ogee edge I chose takes a little more time to create than a standard edge, but they were still able to make a fairly quick turnaround for installation. The StoneTex crew made sure all the cabinet tops were level before beginning installation of the countertops. While the openings for the sinks were precut when they arrived, they cut openings for the sink faucets on site before bringing the countertops inside. Once the countertops were installed, they installed the granite backsplashes, cutting the backsplashes to size on site, and then they installed the porcelain sinks (included in the price of the granite).
In addition to the countertops, StoneTex made granite window sills for the windows in two of the bathrooms; the third bathroom doesn’t have a window. They used epoxy to adhere the sink to the counter and the countertops to the cabinets. After the counters were done, they clear caulked all seams and applied sealant to the granite for protection in addition to telling me how to take care of it. I think this granite is even prettier than the kitchen granite, even though they’re the same color.
StoneTex worked quickly and did an excellent job of cleanup. … For better photos of the cabinets, see the review on Walden Cabinets. The photos here were taken to best show off the countertops. They did chip the edge of my granite but did send someone out to repair it and it looks good. The one negative that I can think of is that if you don't live in Dallas, it can be an issue selecting your granite slabs. I live in McKinney and the drive to the slab yards can take up to an hour depending on traffic. They close at 5 pm and are only open half a day on Saturday. It can be an issue if you have to work. Our entire projected lasted about 10 days (not counting one weekend). First, we were thinking of only installing hardwood floors, but then we decided to paint and add other things as well. Mike Mitchell was very good at adjusting our estimates based on our changing requirements and we were very pleased about how there were no surprise costs. He was pretty clear about how much money would be needed up front and how much could get financed, and when the job could start. He was pretty patient about our indecision concerning what paint colors we wanted and what type floor we wanted. I think he brought floor samples to us at least three times; he also referred us to the supply company they use where there were more floor samples. He'd also come out and measure every time we had a new idea (such as, let's also get granite). We also got to go and choose our own granite slabs and the sink we wanted. Then we bought the faucet fixture and disposal we wanted them to install. Anyway, the project started off with painting, with nail pops and other problems fixed first. That lasted a couple of days and at least two coats were used. I was actually surprised when they started the second coat as I thought it looked fine with just the initial coat. The crew had the exact color paint we had chosen and came with the necessary scaffolding. While painting was ongoing, they started taking up carpeting. Then they took off all the old ceramic (watch out for the dust...). They walled off the entryway with plastic to keep the dust from spreading everywhere Our new ceiling fan was replaced, and new light fixtures in the kitchen were then put in, and measurements were taken for the granite. Great job centering the lights over the kitchen island. Then the kitchen ceiling was patched up...it actually had holes from the initial install of box lighting that we were replacing but the guys just took care of that, too. About this time, our old backsplash and countertops were removed. Then the floor was put in. This actually took about two days as our entire first floor minus the kitchen and baths, had hardwood and new molding put in. But they were careful moving furniture around and placing it back. Then the granite came in. One of our kitchen walls was not exactly straight so the install of one granite piece was a bit off initially; but this got fixed. I was concerned the new oven range would not fit in the space but they knew what they were doing when the installed the granite and everything fit fine; they even placed a granite bar behind the range (the new range does not have a back console like the old range did so otherwise a gap would be back there). Their tile guys set the new backsplash how we wanted and were even willing to pop out placed tiles and replace them with different decorative tiles on the fly, as we decided our initial idea needed a bit of changing. During this project, it appeared that all work crews had specific tasks. One team painted, another laid floors, one removed countertops and installed backsplash; another crew installed granite, electricians installed lights/fans, etc. Going through a remodel wasn't easy but everything looks great now and we are very pleased. We simply had too many things to get done and it was much easier getting everything done with one company than trying to hire different people for each different thing. We'd definitely use Raindango! again. But it'll be a while before we get around to remodeling our upstairs.

"In August 2022, after hearing about DFW Improved on a home improvement radio show, we entered into two contracts with them for a roof replacement and interior water damage repair. These contracts were based on insurance-approved scopes following the 2021 ice storm. DFW Improved began the roof replacement project first. Following the replacement, the roof continued to leak due to their failure to replace the flashings. Despite corresponding work items in the insurance scope (confirmed later by the insurance adjuster's email), the DFW Improved salesperson insisted that flashing was not part of the roof. He threatened legal action if further payment was not made. Prior to this, they presented two identical model shingles as choices, which their own roof subcontractor on-site disclosed. Upon our inquiry via email, instead of addressing the issue, the salesperson accused us of defaming their company. Furthermore, they quoted $900 for a non-existent siding hole and estimated $25,000 for a bookcase, which their own designer valued at $6,000 to $7,000. While the roof leaking issue was still unresolved, DFW Improved began interior work. Instead of submitting the agreed supplement request as agreed, they skipped necessary steps to cut water-damaged drywall. To prevent wasted effort, we instructed workers to stop. The salesperson responded, stating that workers would not proceed with any work not approved by insurance. However, he emailed the insurance company claiming that the work had already been completed, causing significant confusion for us. During the halt period, we sent out numerous issues such as broken air pipes, cracked roof rafters, missing insulation, roof holes, missing felt paper, and a leaking roof. However, we received no response other than prevaricate explanations and demanding for money. We escalated to the DFW Improved upper manager who responded that they are their best team members and disregarded our request for an alternative project team. DFW Improved abandoned the projects and warranties, and initiated separation in December 2022. Both parties engaged in negotiations over separation costs. During this process, DFW Improved unexpectedly sent four individuals to our house, claiming to inspect texture work and demanding payment. Subsequently, DFW Improved placed a lien on our house, and their lawyer sent a demanding letter stating they would auction our house and (quote)“sue Vigorously” if payment was not made, despite the mediation/arbitration clause clearly outlined in the contracts. Under this pressure, we filed a claim in Tarrant County Small Claims Court, where the lien was placed. Later, their lawyer filed a motion to transfer the case to Collin County, where DFW Improved is based. We refused to comply with a demand for $5,000 and the confidentiality requirement during mediation. DFW Improved filed a new case simultaneously in the higher Tarrant County District Court, demanding a new amount of $59,845 and seeking to enforce the lien, providing no explanation for this amount. According to their co-owner's email, their accounting book calculated that we owed them a total of $1,260 (detailed below). During pre-mediation discussions, their lawyer attempted to justify their request for $8k, citing that a significant portion was allocated to attorneys' fees. We did not engage their lawyer to send us a threatening letter containing false statements about suing us without mediation. Their lawyer also declined $65 public mediator service provided by the Tarrant Small Claims Court. Additionally, they unilaterally escalated the dispute to a higher court. We have never been late with their payments. In fact, DFW Improved made a math error by crediting the blind work twice. When we brought this to their attention, DFW Improved spent extra time correcting the invoice, and their salesperson initiated an internal investigation. Any delay was certainly not caused by us. DFW Improved filed a lien attempting to collect the costs again, despite already receiving payment. See the invoice they submitted, which completely overlooks the $35,895.76 payment we made (supported by our bank transactions). —-------------The payment schedule on the contract has major math errors—--------- Payments for the work are due as follows: Contract Total $ 194,972.33 $ 19,497.23 deposit is due at initial design meeting.(10% of the Contract Total) 20% of the Contract Total is due at the preconstruction meeting. 30% of the Contract Total is due at start of drywall repair. ←– we requested halt at this phase and according to texas property code Sec. 28.003. Their lien is invalid, and their claim is baseless according to the evidence in their own submitted invoice. We are uncertain about the extent and duration of the legal battle DFW Improved and their lawyer will continue to pursue. It has been nearly two years. Instead of assisting us with the aftermath of a natural disaster, DFW Improved attempted to extort money from us and our insurance provider. This has resulted in substantial legal fees, emotional stress, and significant delays in repairing our house, necessitating prolonged rental expenses. Despite our efforts to settle amicably, they persist in prolonging and escalating the dispute. This inci"

"The lawn clean-up went well, he talked me out of removing the pool and deck. I bought fencing supplies and hard ware to replace privacy fencing. After the fence was done decided not to have the wall repaired at this time. I paid $3000 down another $5000 once the cleanup was underway when finished I was suppose to pay an additional $7000 but accidentally wrote it for $8000 the contractor did not correct me or say anything. I don't feel that the services provided were worth the money paid"
