"Normally Cytech charges a travel fee for work in Harlingen, but after talking to the friendly office staff, they agreed to waive the fee and instead call me when they had a technician already in Harlingen that could do my service next.  They called later the same day and technician arrive less than 30 minutes later.  He was very professional and did a great job. "

"This is my first time to hire an electrician as I did the work myself but now I am 80 and it is time I get some help. Arnulfo was a quick study as to what I wanted done and he was able to do it the way I would have. I think it was worth it but electrical work is expensive. I am happy and have less anxiety about our house burning down."

"Too bad there isn't a 6-star rating because JJ far exceeded my expectations in re-wiring an antique lamp thats been in the family for multiple generations. His skills are above reproach, as are his professionalism in scheduling, arriving on time, and completing the job without undue delay. I will definitely hire JJ again and wholeheartedly recommend his services."

Ev Charger Installer questions, answered by experts

The cost of installing a 240-volt outlet for an electric car averages between $175 and $300. Depending on the type of outlet as well as labor costs, you might pay as little as $130 or upwards of $400. Hiring a professional electrician makes up the bulk of the expense but ensures a safe and code-compliant installation.

You can plug your electric car into a regular 120-volt household outlet only if you’re using a Level 1 charger. This method is slower and may take several days to fully charge your EV. For faster charging, you’ll need a Level 2 charger, which requires a 220- or 240-volt outlet.

Local electricians with experience in your area understand the local building codes, which is very important when doing new electrical work. They also have experience with the kind of electrical problems homes in your location may have, and even the components that were used in the original construction, which leads them to make faster and better decisions.

Setting up utilities on a vacant property usually takes at least a few months, or between 6 weeks to 16 weeks. This process requires working with the local planning and zoning department, hiring a building contractor or engineer to design the utility layout, securing permits, laying the lines, and connecting the utilities.

Yes, you should get a quote or an estimate from an electrician. Most electricians offer free estimates or quotes. When getting quotes, do your research and verify each electrician’s license. Get quotes from three different electricians to compare. If the prices or items listed appear different on the quotes, ask the electrician to clarify. Learning as much as you can about the electrical work you want done will help you get the most accurate estimate.
