"Brad & his team did a phenomenal job installing my irrigation system. I am so pleased with the work. They were very efficient & professional from start to finish. I had bids from other companies but theirs was very reasonable, and they came highly recommended from a neighbor. It was a no brainer to use them, and I'm so glad I did."

"I did some research and interviewed several irrigation companies and by far Chris of Thrive Outdoor Solutions explained all the details of an irrigation system. He answered every question we had. The crew came out and did an excellent job of installation. Chris came out the next day and did a walk through of our new system and showed us how to use it. I love that I can control the system with my phone..."

"Mike came prepared to work.  He explained what he was going to do and how he was going to do it.  He replaced all the heads and replaced a broken line.  After replacing the heads, he tested and adjusted them all to ensure there was 100% coverage.  I recommend that anyone with lawn irrigations issues, contact Mike @ 512-217-8387.

Lawn Irrigation questions, answered by experts

There are a few ways to fix your lawn on a budget, including:

  • Identify the lawn care problem and learn how to seed, fertilize, and aerate your lawn.

  • Reseed old, damaged lawn with new grass that fares better in your environment.

  • Remove grass from your yard so you no longer need to worry about lawn care costs.

Grass will grow back after being sprayed with vinegar. If you’re looking for an alternative to chemical herbicides, vinegar can help you manage weeds. Use a mixture of 1 gallon of white vinegar, 1 cup of salt, and 1 tablespoon of dish soap to spray on your grass. This will kill the grass at the surface while keeping the roots intact, so it’ll eventually grow back. You’ll need to use an herbicide or manually remove the whole root system to get rid of grass for good.

Buffalo grass spreads through both underground roots and above-ground stolons. The widespread root and stolon system makes up for this grass’s overall lack of density. It’s a hearty grass, so it spreads on its own slowly, especially considering that most of the male (no staminate) varieties of grass are sterile. You may think about over-maintaining your lawn to encourage growth, but this would have the opposite effect.

Thorough soil preparation, spreading seeds evenly, and consistent watering are essential for successful grass establishment.

Aerating a lawn before seeding it or adding new grass seed is a smart decision. By loosening up compact soil and allowing it to take in more air and water, your seeds will have an easier time establishing roots and growing. Aerating beforehand also means your seeds will have better contact with the soil, so more of your seeds have a chance to germinate. If you do plan to aerate your lawn before seeding, aerate about two days before you plan to start seeding.
