"Communication is great. They answer all your questions. Tech is out when they say they will be there. Very friendly people and very fair. No issues what so ever. We added a 220v outlet in the garage for our new EV car and only took about an hour."

"Came quickly to give us a bid on a new meter loop; run wire to carport and shop; lights & switches in carport; install breaker box & outlet to charge RV; outlet for welder & new lighting & outlets in shop. Also installed new under & over cabinet lighting in the kitchen. Started the job quickly. Took a few weeks to complete but that was waiting on Karnes Electric to do their part of the job. The owner was very professional and his crew worked quickly. We were very pleased with the service we received. We would them again."

"Electrical Design Solutions not only did an amazing job on the work we needed done in our home, but they were incredibly fast, kind, and their work is top notch. Not to mention their reasonable and accommodating prices. I would recommend them to any small/large business as well as any residential needs. I am truly so grateful to be a customer of theirs. They have essentially “come to rescue” when we’ve needed electrical tasks done at our two homes. I can always count on them to work with our schedule. On the few occasions they’ve helped us, we’ve asked them to look at other areas of our home and without hesitation they are always so helpful and attentive. Thank you, Electrical Design Solutions! "I will not be using Tasco again for my air conditioning needs. I recently agreed to have them replace a faulty expansion valve in my relatively new system, which they had installed. The expansion valve was free (a warrantied product). They used 2 lbs. of freon. They also installed a $38 dollar dryer. The two technicians spent a total of 1 hour and 13 minutes to complete the work. The estimate to complete the work was $1200.00. You would think that this company would cut me a better deal for warranty work. Upon completion of the work, I requested an itemized bill. Later that day, the owner stated they do not give out itemized bills and that he charges a flat rate for his services. After arguing wth him for a short time he stated that because I agreed to his estimate there was nothing to argue about. If you charge a flat rate why would there be an estimate? When I started using Tasco, they had an A rating- it is now down to a B. Do yourself a favor and go with a better company that is cheaper. Make sure you get an itemized bill. You can look up the cost of every part online. I never minded paying a premium for good service, but this is ridiculous."

Ev Charger Installer questions, answered by experts

Local electricians with experience in your area understand the local building codes, which is very important when doing new electrical work. They also have experience with the kind of electrical problems homes in your location may have, and even the components that were used in the original construction, which leads them to make faster and better decisions.

Having a Level 2 charger can increase your home value, especially as electric vehicles become more popular. Homebuyers who have EVs or are interested in getting one will appreciate the convenience of a ready-to-use charging station. The added value can vary based on location and buyer preferences.

Setting up utilities on a vacant property usually takes at least a few months, or between 6 weeks to 16 weeks. This process requires working with the local planning and zoning department, hiring a building contractor or engineer to design the utility layout, securing permits, laying the lines, and connecting the utilities.

You can plug your electric car into a regular 120-volt household outlet only if you’re using a Level 1 charger. This method is slower and may take several days to fully charge your EV. For faster charging, you’ll need a Level 2 charger, which requires a 220- or 240-volt outlet.

Hire an electrician the same way you would an employee. Ask questions and look for a good fit. Streamline the process by using these questions to ask an electrician. It's also common to ask for a quote in writing. Don’t forget to provide all the project details to ensure there are no surprises or opportunities for added fees.
