"On February 2nd we had a freeze all across Connecticut, our pipes bursted in 6 different places. I called every restoration company in 3 different states, and nobody had any openings for at least a month. Everyone was so overbooked because of the freeze. I remembered a company I've heard about, in San Antonio TX called canco restoration. I called and spoke to a man named Kenneth Barrett and asked if he would be able to help me. He told me he was more than willing to help us out! I called my insurance company USAA and got the go ahead for Canco to come out. The next day Kenneth, and his estimator flew out here to Connecticut. We got the estimation done, and that Saturday his whole team drove from san antonio TX to Connecticut. They were here for approximately 5 days, they worked fast and efficiently! The team did an incredible job with the water restoration and drying everything out. I couldn't of asked for a better company! CANCO is the best water restoration out here, hands down! The build back was incredible as well! My husband and I were able to be kept in the loop every step of the process! My house is 100% better than how it was before! The total cost of my restoration was 90,000. Vinegar has become popular because it’s wallet-friendly, easy to find, and sounds like a great alternative to harsh chemicals and expensive machinery. However, vinegar isn’t strong enough to remove concrete sealant. Sealants can resist acid, and vinegar is a much weaker acid than chemical removal agents. And worse, vinegar can damage concrete by dulling it and causing pitting.

Concrete sealers will help your garage floors resist water, but they will not make the floor waterproof. You will need to purchase a specific waterproof floor paint for concrete and apply several coats over several days if you want your garage floor to be truly impermeable. While the process is similar to sealing the floors, the materials are different, and the need for multiple coats will extend the process and drying time.

The average thickness of a concrete basement floor should be 4 to 6 inches. The thickness of a concrete basement floor depends on your area’s building codes, the type of concrete you’re using, the load capacity, and the base flooring materials. Most residential basements require a minimum of 4 inches for standard foot traffic and light storage.

While you shouldn’t use thinset mortar on its own as a floor leveler, it can work alongside other products to help level floors. For instance, you could start with a self-leveling compound, let that dry, then apply backer board with thinset mortar to help fully even out the floors ahead of laying tile.

Polished concrete floors also have downsides. Some homeowners, for example, might dislike the coldness of the material (though area rugs can help warm up the space). Concrete floors are also hard, which isn’t always ideal for children and pets. What’s more, these floors are susceptible to cracking, and repairs can be costly. Some homeowners might not like that installation isn’t DIY-friendly.
