"We had hired another pest control person to trap and remove varmints who had created a void under our front porch. He set a trap which captured a skunk. However after failing to respond to my calls / texts for two days, I had an urgency to have the skunk removed and released from the trap. That's when I used the Angi app and Apple Pest Control was recommended. I called their office the next morning and within 90 minutes Stan arrived and professionally removed the entrapped skunk, removing it to a distant rural location where it was released. Since then Stan has trapped several raccoons, a possum and skunk, helping us rid these pests from our property. I highly recommend Apple Pest Control"
"Very knowledgeable guy who seem to know what he’s doing. Don’t know results of spraying. Have had much rain since. Will have to see if it worked. Terminex will spray again the beginning of next month."
I am a landlord and at the end of my current tenant's lease, during the walk through they informed me that there was some type of critter in the attic that was eating through the insulation on the pipes and anything else it could get it paws on. I was mortified because my new tenant (a single female whom I had never spoken with nor met in person) was scheduled to take possession of the property in 2 days. It was very important to me that I deliver a pristine property to my new renter.
I quickly became and Angie's List subscriber and located Hector at Arrest A Pest. I left a voice message that he returned within minutes. He came to my home quickly and mapped out a plan to resolve my problem. He and his crew were wonderful professionals and my critter is GONE. Still not sure what it was, but 100% identification is not required, just a 100% critter free attic is.
They have provided quarterly service for us for about the past two years. They are extremely professional and kind every time they come. They were very careful to treat every single fire ant mound on our 1.6 acre lot after hearing that my daughter was bit by fire ants. They are always careful with our wooden baseboards, children napping in rooms, and our little dog. They always were foot covers and are friendly but not overly chatty. They don't always come on the day that they are scheduled but do come near the scheduled date. They are great to spray the outside if we are not home and are happy to spray and re-spray the inside anytime we need. Since using Silver Lining we are no longer seeing as many scorpions, which is impressive in our area. They also did a special treatment about a year ago when they noticed a problem with carpenter ants.
"I have used these guys twice for rodents in the attic of my rental property. The first time was great. They were prompt and effective. Unfortunately another rodent got in due to some holes near the fireplace. It took a long time to get those repaired but once I did I asked DM to remove the dead animal from my wall. Joseph came out but never contacted me. No work was performed and I called the owner a couple of times to see when they could come back out. Each time, I was told that I should get a call soon to schedule the service. That never happened though. I'm disappointed. They were great when they actually did the work. "
"I initially wanted to get a solar attic fan installed. But the model was not what I wanted since it didn't have an thermostat or any way to turn it off, in times of unnecessary use. Manuel provided me with a couple other options and I decided to go with an exhaust fan that was thermostat controlled and I could unplugged if I wanted. While there I asked Manuel about adding more insulation to the attic since I had been up there a few times and had disturbed and move insulation around, and I had noticed in some areas the builder had not provide good coverage. Being satisfied with his response and knowledge I told him I may have another project as well. After coming down from attic I discussed and explained how I thought about providing better ventilation in the garage. Manuel concurred and we came up with a plan. He provided me the two estimates. (garage ventilation and more insulation in the attic.) He also told me that with the garage project there could be more to do depending on what the builder had done--that was nice to hear so I won?t be surprised in the future if there could be more work and cost involved. I was very pleased with the entire process. From Insulation Works responsiveness with their answers to my questions in Angie's list message center; right up to the day of the work and dealing with Manuel. I will be using them again in the future. Thank you Insulation Works and Manuel for your service. "
"When they came, we evidently had chimney swifts in our chimney and they couldn't remove them (by law due to it being an endangered species). By the time the birds were gone and we called them back, the coupon had expired. "

Set live traps or install a one-way door to evict squirrels, rodents, and other animals from your attic. Once they’re out, seal any entry points to prevent the animals from returning. If you’re dealing with an infestation, call a pro.
Trees that provide a habitat to bats and an abundance of bugs—their main food source—will attract bats to your yard. Because the North American landscape has changed so much in recent years, bats have a harder time finding trees with cavities to shelter in. If your yard has a dead or dying tree with a lot of sun exposure, bats will likely be drawn to it because trees with those features are less common.
Vinegar can keep some animals at bay, like deer, rabbits, foxes, and raccoons. Keep in mind that your household pets, like cats and dogs, also don’t like the smell of vinegar. You can soak rags in white vinegar and put them up around your garden beds to keep the pesky critters from eating your plants.
When woodpeckers start banging on your walls or roof, they are probably looking for insects to eat, storing nuts for winter, drilling a hole to make a nest, or communicating with other birds to establish territory or find a mate.
The size of the hole can help determine the reason for the pecking. Small irregular holes are a result of insect hunts. Acorn holes are more consistently sized and often fitted with a nut in the middle. Nest holes are large and have rounded edges. If the bird is pecking to mark its territory or attract a mate, it may leave dents rather than holes, and the noise will stop when the mating season starts in spring.
Once the animals and their young are out of the house, remove the nest and locate any entry points. Some may be difficult to find because some animals can fit through very small holes. Once you’ve located as many entry points as possible, use materials such as metal or masonry to block off the entry. Ideally, you should choose materials that most animals cannot chew through. Create a one-way door or flap to allow animals to leave but not return. Additional methods include using repellants designed to make an area unappealing to the types of animals that find your home so inviting.
