Customers say: True professional

"Great work! Great people! Great communication! The team showed up and got right to work. They knew exactly how to tailor the oak trees. Even put aside some great pieces of fire wood for me, plus cleaned up/raked all the debris generated from the service. R&G Landscaping did an amazing job and already hired them for another. Thank you!"

"Freddy and Alex are amazing palm tree trimmers. Fast, beautiful job, fair pricing, and meticulous clean up. They even skimmed our pool and hot tub AND both neighbors pools and hot tubs afterwards, because of the saw dust. I will only use them from now on."

"Fine people and very cordial. They removed one 45-year-old oak tree, trimmed three more, and removed three tallow trees. They had some equipment problems and underestimated the breadth of the project, which extended the estimated length to do the job by 3 days. However, they held true to the quote and did a good job cleaning up fter the project was done. I would hire them again."

Arborists questions, answered by experts

The ideal depth of a tree notch depends on the tree, but it should usually be between 20% and 25% of the tree’s depth. However, if the tree is leaning towards the direction of the notch, it can be cut more shallowly—at as little as 10% of the depth. When the tree is leaning away from the direction it needs to be felled, you can cut deeper, closer to 30%.

Peach trees don’t tend to live as long as other types of trees and crops. They tend to last only about 12 years, and you shouldn’t expect to see a full peach harvest each of those years, either. Young peach trees need a few years to get established before they produce fruit, but you should have plenty of peaches for your pies and cobblers during their mature years, around years four through eight.

A grafted tree is a tree grown by combining two trees. It takes expertise. Branches from grafted trees don’t grow strong roots. Save yourself the time and frustration by having an arborist help you with this advanced project.

You can often tell if a tree is grafted because it will have a noticeable line. Above the line, the bark will look different than it does below the line. It’s most common with fruit trees.

When a palm tree no longer produces new fronds and old fronds start turning yellow-brown, that’s a sign the tree is dying. However, transplanted palm trees can show these signs for the first several months as they re-establish themselves. It’s best to keep watering and not give up on the palm tree until a couple of seasons have passed and you’re sure it’s not coming back to life.

Maple trees start the growing season by developing small groups of red flowers where the tree's fruit, the samaras, will appear in the coming weeks. Later in spring, the samaras, which many call whirlybirds or similar names, develop into single-winged seed carriers that spin when falling or drifting in the wind.
