Customers say: True professional

"R&G Landscaping did a wonderful job on our trees. We have hired them twice to cut down dead large dead trees left from the winter freeze. Both times they responded to my initial call very quickly, coming over the same day to provide a free estimate that was fair for the scope of work. Once committed they came back to do the work at the agreed time, handled the work quickly and efficiently, cleaning up after themselves and hauling off all of the debris. One of our trees was very close to the pool and they made sure no droppings got into the pool, which was difficult but appreciated. I will definitely call R&G again when we need more work done and would recommend them to anyone in Corpus Christi."

"Lawn Pros lived up to their name. They were professional and knowledgeable and very pleasant to work with. Their landscaper came up with some great ideas that I loved. They told me if anything was an issue to call them and they would come back to take care of it. I found there was something we had agreed on that had not been done and they were true to their word. They not only came back promptly to take care of it they did it with smiles and efficiency"
Laying down squares of Floratam St. Augustine. Laying the squares is easy. Notice the prep work. There used to be weed infested grass in that area. Tilling is a lost art but Lawn Pros still uses this method before sod installs.

"Olive wood landscaping answered me quickly and came to my house the same day. He didn't charge me a lot for the big tree branch that was broken on my roof. He did a great job and very professional. I will be calling him again when I need my tree cut."

"I wasn't sure they'd be able to help me with my problem because of their name, but they were the fastest and most persistent to respond. They were concerned about my situation and sent two great guys. The technicians diagnosed the issue quickly and listened to our needs. Instead of insisting on doing a complete fix (which is what was needed) they recognized we just needed a good immediate fix until we get our solar panels installed in a couple of weeks. This saved us money. They also didn't do the minimum because we had guests in our home and needed to utilize the large appliances in our home. Not only were the electricians smart and caring they were friendly too. I also felt the cost wasn't astronomical too!"

Arborists questions, answered by experts

It’s possible to transplant trees as tall as 50 feet when an experienced tree planting service uses the right equipment. However, a tree with a trunk larger than two or three inches in diameter needs to be handled by a professional in order to yield successful transplanting results. Consulting a tree planting professional is the best way to tell if your large tree can be safely transplanted.

Trees provide many benefits, including shade, habitat for local wildlife, and cleaner air, so it’s always a good idea to try an alternative strategy like crown reduction before you chop one down. But sometimes, cutting down a tree is the only option (like if it’s severely diseased). A licensed arborist can assess the tree and recommend the best course of action.

The shepherd’s tree, native to the Kalahari Desert in Africa, holds the record for the deepest known tree roots at over 230 feet deep. Some African communities refer to it as the “Tree of Life” since it provides food, shade, and medicinal properties to the surrounding community.

In some states and municipalities, you will need a permit to remove a tree on your property. In many cases where permits are required, a tree must reach a maximum height before a permit is required to remove it. You can either ask your local building department or a tree removal professional if you’ll need a permit. If you do, you can expect to pay between $50 and $150 for the permit alone. Your tree removal company should pull the permit for you and include the permit fee in your total.

The best time to transplant a tree is when it is dormant. For many trees, this means either in the fall after the leaves have dropped (around October or November) or in early spring before new growth begins (around March). The ideal timing can depend on the type of tree. Deciduous trees do well when moved in early spring or fall, while evergreens are best transplanted in early spring or late summer. For example, pine trees are best moved in early fall, but maples prefer late fall. Avoid transplanting in winter, as the frozen or hard, cold soil poses a significant risk to the roots and prevents the tree from acclimating properly.
