"When we originally contacted Cliff Morgan, I had to leave a voice mail.  He called me back within a couple of hours, and agreed to come take a look at the leak in addition to providing a free estimate.  He arrived on time and was very professional.  After listening to various water sources (sinks, shower, outdoor spigot, etc), he believed the leak was between the sink and the shower in one of the bathrooms.  He gave me a couple of leak scenarios and the associated repairs that would be done along with a best case estimate and a worst case estimate (noting that the cost could exceed the worst case if there was something that could not be foreseen with the repair).  He was available to do the work the next day, so we agreed.
He called the next morning to let me know he was on his way and arrived on time.  He spent time methodically testing the water lines to pin point the offending pipe.  As he originally thought, the leak was on the cold side between the sink and shower in one of the bathrooms.  The repair was effective and efficient and he explained everything that he was doing.  The pieces cut out of the walls were small and neatly done.
Best of all, the total bill was actually *less* than the best case scenario quote, which was great news.
While we hope we never see him again (we don't need any more slab leaks!), we would not hesitate to contact him again.  Additionally, we'd highly recommend him.to anyone that needs his services.  If all contractors were like Cliff, home repair/update projects would be *far* less frustrating!

"Installation was great. The service guys were excellent. The salesperson left out a few important details such as the discounts we were able to eventually get and the communication between the service guys and the salesperson was lacking."

"Youngs called 20 minutes before the scheduled appointment to let me know the technician was on his way. He arrived on time, was courteous and unclogged the kitchen drain line within minutes. This company is contacted with my home warranty service so I cannot comment on their actual price for service, but well worth my $75 fee.

"They did a great job! It went faster than I expected. I asked one of the guys if he had time, would he check a leak under my kitchen sink. He was very thorough. It turns out that we had a bolt still attached underneath the sink from a previous water filter installation. We needed a different type of bolt and he switched the bolts for free! He even gave me some much needed advice to help prevent further leaks from the faucet area. I really appreciated the extra mile! I am very pleased with Lone Star Water Services and would gladly recommend them to others."

"I had a different company out to diagnose a problem with the
rain sensor on my irrigation system.
That company?s technician found the sensor bypass switch on
the control panel on.
He told me that was the reason the sensor was not working
and apparently stopped his diagnosis there.
That next weekend I found that the sensor was indeed not
working and that was probably the reason the bypass switch was on.
I decided to try to replace the sensor myself and bought a
new sensor at Home Depot. (The Home Depot sensor was only $40.00 and the other
company was going to charge well over $200.00 to replace it.)
While I was attempting to install the new sensor I
accidentally touched the power terminals with the sensor wires, which caused a
spark.
The control panel went blank.
I initially had thought that the problem might have been a
circuit breaker or GFCI.
After checking the breaker box and all the GFCIs I could
find I was pretty sure it was the transformer in the control panel. (The
voltage in the panel is 24 volts and since it was wired directly into the 110
volt breaker box I knew there must be some sort of transformer in the control
panel.)
The control panel is mounted outside and is wired directly
into the circuit breaker box. I knew I had no business attempting to replace
the control panel.
I called H20 Sprinkler Systems on Monday.
They told me they could be out on Wednesday morning or
possibly Tuesday afternoon.
I told them we had family coming Tuesday afternoon so
Wednesday morning would actually be better.
The technician arrived a few minutes before his scheduled
arrival time of 8:00 AM.
He quickly told me that the controller had been ?fried? (my
term.)
He was able to install a new controller.
As he was about to connect the rain sensor (which I had just
bought at Home Depot) he warned me that those models are sometimes problematic.
Since I thought I would be able to return the sensor to Home
Depot, I had him go ahead and install a better sensor.
His sensor was $189.00 so it was quite a bit more than the
Home Depot model, but almost $100.00 less than the model offered by the other
company.
To be honest, I always wonder when someone suggests an
upgrade if they are totally honest or just pushing for more sales.
The installation took less than an hour and the total bill
was $478.00 ($200.00 for controller, $179.00 for sensor, and $89.00 for one
hour of labor and service call.)

"The provided services were outstanding and very thorough. I can not recommend these guys enough!              I had called multiple plumbing companies and received inadequate customer service. I finally came across Mark Masters. From the first phone call, Mark Masters Home Services was on the job immediately to scope out the work and provide an extremely competitive estimate. They explained multiple options and the pro's and con's of each path. After deciding how we wanted to proceed, they then returned promptly to perform the rough-in work, which included adding water lines and relocating a drain line. The rough-in work was completed within about a day and they left the area very clean. After the cabinets, counter tops, and kitchen sink were installed, they returned within a day or two of my phone call to complete the plumbing finish work. This included hooking up a refrigerator, dishwasher, kitchen sink, tankless water heater, and filtration system for our coffee maker. The neatness of the install is something to complement, as you can tell no shortcuts were taken to finish the job any sooner. Several of my colleagues have been commenting on how well the lines were run and the quality of the parts used. I am extremely happy with our new kitchen/break room and this experience has made it that much better. "

Install Garbage Disposal questions, answered by experts

Your garbage disposal is not draining because it might have a clog due to food waste, a foreign object, grease, oil, fat, or it may have a broken motor. When water doesn't flush out of the disposal, that's a key sign that your disposal has a clog or needs repair.

Once you have your garbage disposal disconnected, you can remove the mounting bracket by unscrewing the bolts that are holding the bracket. You can back them out just enough to pop off the snap ring, which prevents the bottom portion of the bracket from disconnecting from the top when you unscrew the bolts. Use a regular screwdriver to pop off the snap ring, and the rest of the components should fall off by themselves.

While the drain connection for a garbage disposal is nearly universal and fits standard sink drain holes of 3 1/2 to 4 inches, the size of the disposal unit itself is not. You must have enough space in the cabinet underneath your sink to accommodate the disposal's housing. A larger model may not fit in a compact cabinet or if the existing plumbing is arranged in an unusual way. Before buying a new garbage disposal, measure the available space under your sink. If you are replacing an old unit, it's often easiest to choose a new model of a similar size.

No, you do not need a garbage disposal to have a dishwasher. A dishwasher will work without one, and while it's rare to see a home with a dishwasher that doesn't have a disposal, it is possible. The two appliances pair well and are often installed together because a disposal simplifies meal cleanup.

However, your dishwasher should not be used as a replacement for a garbage disposal. Subjecting it to continuous food leftovers can lead to major clogs. If you choose not to install a garbage disposal, you should thoroughly rinse your plates or scrape excess food into the trash or a compost pile before loading them into the dishwasher to prevent plumbing issues.

While unplugging your garbage disposal and plugging it back in may help, most units have an actual reset button, a bright red switch found on the underside of your unit. If your garbage disposal needs resetting, you may notice this button sticking out about a quarter of an inch from the surface of the unit, with which it’s usually flush. Simply depress this reset button to reset the unit, and then test to ensure it’s working about 10 minutes later.
