", and thought a The extended power outage from the Big Freeze of 2013 kept our pool pump from running, which caused our secondary pool pump to freeze and blow out it's seal.  I called 1st Pool and spoke to James about my issue...namely, water leaking out of the bottom of the pump when it was running.  James thought it could be a few different issues Go-Kit might be the solution, which would basically replace a few of the gaskets and seals.  HIs technician would be able to tell for sure when he visited my home.
Alex (the technician) arrived as scheduled and was quickly able to determine where the issue was...the secondary pool pump.  He said the Go-Kit was not needed as the issue was clearly with the secondary pump.  He then proceeded to help me diagnose a low pressure backwash issue that I was experiencing, and took the time to explain some things to me that (as a first time pool/home owner) I had no clue about.
To replace and install the secondary motor was going to run a ballpark of $450 - $500, which is on the high side of what I was expecting (and could afford) to shell out right then.  Apparently, fixing a leak in those motors is a challenge because the seal is very difficult to re-achieve once the unit has been opened up...so the recommendation is generally to replace the unit.
Being somewhat handy, I was able to find a brand new pump of the same make/model for $220 on Amazon.  I wouldn't have attempted a new install of the unit myself, but swapping out a new unit for the old was something I could handle.  It took me about an hour or so to do and everything has been running smoothly since.
I would definitely contact these guys again for any pool issue I have moving forward, as they seem to know their business pretty well.  I think I might have a slow leak somewhere in the pool that I plan on having them take a look at in the spring.
Overall, I think their proposed pricing was fair and reasonable.  $230 or so for the pump and another $250 to install assuming it took a couple of hours to do correctly. They've got employees and overhead to cover, as well as travel time, and some sort of profit, so I felt the labor charge was in the ballpark of reasonable.  I just have more time than money and was fairly sure I could handle the install on my own.

"Daniel did a great job.  Tub looks great and he took good care to not mess up the bathroom.  There was a bit of overspray but he cleaned most all of it up.  Tub looks great and now the renters want the name of the company for their mother-in-law's tub.
This was rental property and I will use them again on other properties.
Price was reasonable.  I had trip charge because I was far away but overall cost was still reasonable.

"Brendan went out of his way to show me how to care for my new pool! He took the time to teach me how to check the filters, test the water, clean the baskets, and run the vacuum! Then he gave me a killer deal to do it for me!!! No money was required for this first visit. I did give him a tip and signed a contract! Great guy!!! Highly recommended ☺️"

Sauna Installation questions, answered by experts

Most people will opt to put their home sauna outside near a pool or on a screened-in porch so the heat doesn’t move into the rest of the house. If your house has enough room, you may choose to put it in a bathroom so you can shower right after.

Both saunas and steam rooms offer some health benefits as well as a good return on investment. While there’s more research on saunas than steam rooms and fewer reported risks with steam rooms, the latter tend to be better for reducing stress. Which one is better depends on the benefits you’re looking for, your budget, and if you have space to build a sauna.

Considering the cost of tools, parts, and hiring assisted labor, building your own sauna can cost almost as much as purchasing one. It is less expensive to buy sauna kits, since they are premade and easier to set up. Still, you may need to hire a professional to assist in electric or plumbing installation.

A home sauna may be considered a luxury item by some homebuyers, which can provide a good return on investment. However, whether it increases your home's value ultimately depends on the buyer, as some may not want to take on the extra costs and maintenance associated with heating and upkeep.

No, you should only choose high-quality wood to build your sauna. Not all types of woods can withstand the pressure from heat or moisture. Only use softwoods, such as cedar and aspen, that are known for absorbing heat and resisting water.
