"I had a big snake under my house - and the plumber couldn't get anything done because of it. Tommy, from CenTer Termite and Pest came out and spent over half an hour searching for the snake. He crawled under the house, took pictures, and explored thoroughly. He was unable to find the snake - hopefully it crawled off - but was extremely thorough in his efforts. It was very reassuring to have someone like this come out."

"Very well organized operation. Sealed the house openings and set trap in first day-caught the large racon first night. They had it picked up and off to a far away place within hours. I was told to contact homeowners insurance which I did and they will pay for lots of attic damage. Very good folks!! Best of all my wife said I could stay home since the racon was gone."

Pest Control questions, answered by experts

When selecting the right pest control company to banish mosquito populations around your home, first search for well-reviewed, qualified, licensed professionals. Next, make sure you’re comfortable with the pro’s methods—some companies offer natural control products and not just chemical options. Finally, check the company’s contract carefully for things like guarantees, discounts for multiple treatments, and liability insurance.

It’s very uncommon for roaches to bite humans. Cockroaches don’t need humans for food and prefer to be elsewhere than on a living being. They have no poison or powerful pincers to cause any significant damage. However, in very bad infestations cockroaches have been known to search humans for dead skin cells, which leads to them nibbling around feet, hands, and eyelashes. They don’t cause any serious harm, but this is an easy way to spread the diseases cockroaches carry.

Tree sap is not usually dangerous to humans or pets. But some trees do produce dangerous sap. Notably, ash, birch, cedar and similar saps can irritate the skin but aren’t dangerous. Sap from trees like the Brazilwood, Mahogany, Milky Mangrove or well-named Poison Walnut can be corrosive, cause nausea, or trigger those with asthma. But for most backyard trees, protective equipment like a sturdy pair of gloves should be fine.

Wasps tend to be more aggressive and defensive than bees. Both will sting to defend themselves or their colony or nest. But many bees have barbed stingers, which means they can’t pull them out of the skin after stinging, allowing them to sting only once. When provoked, wasps can sting multiple times, making them a more menacing pest.

Set live traps or install a one-way door to evict squirrels, rodents, and other animals from your attic. Once they’re out, seal any entry points to prevent the animals from returning. If you’re dealing with an infestation, call a pro.
