I was looking for an Aroborist advice concerning a 23 yr old Live Oak I have on my property which is never trimmed up and is next to my House. The owner of this company is an Arborist. His crew did a wonderful job and the tree still likes a beautiful Oak Tree. I would highly recommend.

Generally, avoid trimming trees in the summer (with the exception of pruning fruit trees as needed). Trees use a lot of energy in the summer, most of which is relegated to new growth.
