They gave us an estimate and scheduled the work in a timely manner. The work done was great and our trees and shrubs are much healthier.

After my initial experience with them, I signed up for a regular service with them. I gladly use them regularly and refer them to all of my friends.

The owner, a licensed arborist came out with his wife and 2 workers. All 4 worked for about 3 hours to get the job done. This was the second time that I used them. The first time was a year earlier, in 2015. They are very personable and professional. They did a great job. I haven't compared prices with other arborists, but they charged about as much as non-licensed landscapers (not certified arborists) have charged over the past 15 years. The difference is that I feel more comfortable doing business with this couple (David and Jill) because they are highly competent and have excellent communication skills.

Awful! If i could give Preservation Tree Service a grade lower than "F," I would. They performed services for us once and were too pricy. I would never use them again. Since that time, they invented a false charge of $700+, which they claim I owe ... for services which were never rendered. I have now spent hours upon hours arguing with both Preservation Tree Service and the debt collection company they retained, disputing the charge for services I did not approve (and were never rendered). This company is AWFUL! Avoid them at all costs (and, even if you do avoid them, you may still get bills for fictitious services).;

"We apologize for the miscommunication with this customer, as we felt we’d performed all requested work in a timely fashion and completely before sending invoices. Our records show that the customer called us on on 12/20/12 for an emergency job. We completed the work and the invoice for that job was paid. The customer called us again for another emergency job on 5/20/13 – we also completed that emergency work, however the customer did not pay the invoice for $460.07 because he felt we didn’t do everything he wanted us to do. There was no estimate or invoice on our books for $700. The invoice for $460.07 was voided from the customer’s account on 1/29/15. After which, the customer posted this review. Our crews work hard to respond as quickly as possible in emergency situations and we strive to make sure our customers are happy with the work. We do not invoice for work we have not fully completed. We would be happy to speak to the customer to resolve any mis-communication."

Excellent job. They were the low cost provider (although one other high quality provider was very close), which I had not expected. They communicated well, were early on the job, completed it in a timely fashion, and cleaned up well. Will definitely use them for all future work.
My only complaint was in getting on their schedule. Because my job was relatively small, I was a fill-in for a partial day. That took longer than I wanted, but wasn't a major problem.

I originally scheduled to have an arborist and his crew thin out dead wood from my red oak tree and remove two branches from a neighbors ash tree (with the neighbor's permission) that were over our roofs and one which was growing into my oak.
Everything went well with only a slight mix-up about the time of day that the crew would arrive. I was originally told that they were scheduled to come in the morning but when the confirmation phone call came, the crew had been scheduled for the afternoon. This was only important because I am very particular about tree pruning and did not want either tree overpruned. I therefore wanted to be present during the were pruning. Unfortunately, I  had an afternoon meeting and was only able to meet the crew when they arrived.
That said I was pleased when I returned home: the arborist and his crew did exactly what we discussed and the trees look much better. Dead wood is gone; and some of the branches over the roofs were removed or some lightened. Overall the trees look much better.
Two weeks later, they were out to fall / deep-root fertilization our red oak.
I have already recommended them to a neighbor and would use them again in the future. I particularly liked that during our initial consultation, the arborist and I were on the 'same page' with regard to tree pruning, and that he was present during the actual pruning.
Cost was slightly higher but I feel that it was worth it to pay more because the arborist was with the crew when the pruning work was being done.

PTS people do a great job. They do what is appropriate and do not need to be constantly supervised.

Price was about right but it was more than I could afford at the time. When I get the funds I do plan to ask them to come out and perform the services.

I have used this company twice to purchase fairly mature trees. The first time was to replace a tree in the back yard that died. I bought an oak tree that was about 12 feet tall. They planted it and recommended a tree gator to keep it hydrated. A year later I bought two large crepe myrtles that were planted in the front yard. One of them had twisted limbs and they came back and put in stakes to straighten it and make it grow straight. I believe the proof of success is over time - all of these trees are very healthy and doing well. They aren't cheap but you get a lot for the money, including the satisfaction in knowing that you saved a tree that might have otherwise been cut down.

They did a great job and were wonderful to have here. They were recommended by someone else and I saw that they had a positive grade on Angie's List, so I hired them. They weren't one minute late, did a great job, and were very clean.

They appeared to be very professional. The only problem sometimes is the waiting list to get on their schedule. Other than that, they are very professional. They are also little bit more expensive than some of the other people in and around. They appear to have excellent botonists or tree experts. Their people come and look at the property and give their opinion for any problems.

I haven't gone back to them. They overwhelmed the place. They had too many guys climbing my trees at the same time. I had a hard time keeping track of them. They cut limbs I didn't want them to cut. They had the city come to pick them up. The city cut a whole in my lawn where the limbs were stacked. They were punctual. I don't think I will use them again. There's too many others to try.
Response from Preservation Tree Services Inc
"We always appreciate feedback, especially if there is an area where we can improve. However, in this instance, we believe the client has Preservation Tree Services confused with another company as we did not perform any services at his address in May of 2010. We have provided services in the past, but it was in January of 2008. It is a hallmark of Preservation Tree to never leave pruning debris for the city to handle. We always clean up after our work and tree trimmings are chipped into mulch back at our shop. We recycle the chippings and also offer it free to area gardeners, as supply allows."

They come out from time to time for tree trimming. They do a good job and are in the neighborhood occasionally. When I called them they and told them I needed some help with my trees because of the snow and she asked if it was an emergency. When I told her that it wasn't she informed me that they would be out as soon as they could because they had some emergencies that they put to the top of the list. I thought that was nice that they asked if I had an emergency and they put the emergencies first. They came out within 2-3 days.

I had to mark them down in "responsiveness," because there was some miscommunication that went unaddressed for a few weeks. BUT, that has been resolved, and, that aside, I have found them to be very professional and courteous. Once they arrived to plant the tree, things went very smoothly. I will definitely continue to use them to help me maintain my older trees and replace any that may need to be replaced.
