Customers say: True professional

"Mr Lenard arrived at my block and beam farm house spent as long as necessary talking through options and prices points for old under house insulation removal and replacement with spray foam. He also walked through actions I should take to reduce moisture collection underneath the house. Leonard was patient with my schedule while I actioned the recommendations, and finally, spray foam work conducted was above expectations. Thank you Leonard and the Insulation Services team, when it’s time to insulate the barn, I’ll be calling again."

"I was totally impressed. They first came several days ago and look at my issues, then repaired my drywall. I had three companies from Angie's List and I contacted them, but on two of them get back to me then I pick Paul's Drywall. My contact with them was total satisfactory."

"Wanted to treat a large attic space in a newly built home. Space was unconditioned. Joel from Polar Boyz gave me an education and we talked over what I needed. He was very helpful. They were able to remove the blown insulation on the floor, install plywood flooring, and then seal the space with spray foam. Joel made sure the job was done well for a reasonable price. I love my new insulated storage room! Thank you Polar Boyz."

"We had a spit ac installed in our garage. The team sent to install the unit were prompt and very professional. The work looks great, they left our garage cleaner than it was before they got there and they went the extra mile and moved extra insulation we had lying around up into our attic since they were already installing insulation as part of the work order. Would highly recommend this company to anyone. This is not the first time we have used them and would definitely use them in the future."

Drywall Insulation questions, answered by experts

The best way to make long, straight cuts is to use a utility knife and a T-square to score the sheet, snap along the score, and then finish the cut by cutting through the paper on the opposite side with the utility knife. If you’re making small cuts, curved cuts, or cutouts for electrical boxes or light fixtures, you can use a manual jab saw to keep costs down, but an electric spiral saw or oscillating multi-tool will get the cleanest, fastest cuts possible.

Water-damaged drywall should almost always be replaced. Not only does it look bad, it’s a breeding ground for toxic mold. Even if you think the area is dry and there’s no active leak, the only way to be sure is to cut out the damaged area and see for yourself.

A post-drywall inspection could uncover many problems that weren’t present during the pre-drywall inspection, including insufficient insulation, missing weather stripping, improperly installed plumbing and lighting fixtures, flooring damage, drywall damage, plumbing leaks, aesthetic issues, and more. Structural problems, which are often expensive to fix and are common reasons to walk away after a home inspection, are easier to see before the drywall goes up, but a post-drywall inspection may highlight minor issues with house settling and foundation problems.

Vinegar and bleach are effective options for removing mold from drywall. Vinegar is a better choice if you have a smaller mold issue while bleach is best if you have a larger mold problem. If the area you're cleaning has limited ventilation, using vinegar would be a better option. In that case, you could mix vinegar with baking soda to remove more stubborn mold growth.

Certain drywall textures, like sand and sometimes popcorn, can be smoothed by applying skim coats, sanding the walls, or chipping away the texture. However, it’s worth considering removing the texture and starting with a blank canvas. Smoothing textured walls requires a lot of sandpaper and elbow grease and can take longer than just outright removing the texture.
