"Mike was very professional. When I called to review his bid he was the only contractor who really came across as understanding wallpaper. He also used a product under it to make it easy to remove. The seems are invisble and he matched the pattern perfectly when lining up the rolls. I highly recommen him!"

"They removed the old surface lacquered and painted my bathroom cabinets after another vendor destroyed them trying to resurface them. They painted my bathroom which was wallpapered. The work done by the vendor was exceptional. They were punctual and professional. If you need painting done, these are the guys to contact."

"The paint crew came in on time, prepped the walls, covered the floors and painted the walls with a primary coat, then painted the walls with two coats of paint. They cleaned up after the job and were professional throughout the process. I would recommend them to anyone."

"Southern Painting was just awesome. Yoni, the salesman, came to the house for the estimate and did a thourough walk around, told us what to expect and left a written estimate on the spot. They came out and powerwased the house, sealed the cracks, and covered all the windows. They did a wonderful job. They didn't spill a drop and even painted the hardware and metal railings on my porch, I was concerned about using a sprayer and they handpainted a great deal as well. I was able to use a 10 % off coupon and they were 2000.00 cheaper than another company! I was just thrilled at the quality of the work. Price included 3 different colors of Sherwin Williams Durationpaint. I will hire them again. Thanks Yoni.

"I contacted Paul's Drywall through Angie's list.  We had ceiling and wall water damage from an air conditioner water leak in one area and ceiling water damage in another area.  Paul came to see what the damage was, and had an estimate ready the following day, which I accepted.  On appointment day he arrived on time with help and quickly got to work.  He found the wall damage to be just paint damage so just repaired the wall paint.  He and his crew repaired/replaced the drywall in the ceilings, installed new insulation and matched the "crow's foot" wall texture perfectly!  All were very professional and courteous. They cleaned up completely after work was complete. Would hire them again.

"Called Daniel, owner of "No Limit Painting" on a Saturday morning at 9 am. He answered his phone quickly and agreed to come to my home and provide a free estimate. I was a little hesitant at first to have a painting company repair drywall, but other reviewers reported he did good work, so I decided to request a bid. Bottom line: he did a fantastic job and I'm very happy I hired him.
Daniel and a helper arrived less than 3 hours after I first talked with him. I wanted to hang two ceiling fans where I originally had light fixtures, but the old drywall was weak and needed replacement. For $150, Daniel removed two sections of drywall, floated in patches, mudded the boxes, double-taped the joints and used quick-dry compound that set in 30 minutes. He was masterful with the mud, so the result was like new. After he sanded, I primed, painted and textured the repairs. Good as new!
I was so satisfied with his work I asked for an estimate to refurbish my garage drywall. His estimate was fair and reasonable. If I decide to do have this work done, I will certainly hire Daniel to do it.
Very happy with this service provider. I recommend him without reservations.

"After my initial 99.00 painting for 1 room, I asked Mr. Ramirez for an estimate to paint my 2 bathrooms, which had wallpaper.  Mr. Ramirez provided me a very reasonable quote, thus we set a date for the job.  Mr. Ramirez arrived with a fellow painter and proceeded to remove the wallpaper from 1 bathroom, and the other bathroom was Kiltz primed.  Mr. Ramirez and his helper removed all the fixtures, mirrors, and expertly covered all exposed areas.  Day one was completed with wallpaper removed on one bathroom and textured, the other bathroom was primed and textured.   Day 2, Mr. Ramirez arrived with 2 helpers.  Mr Ramirez proceeded to cover the work area where he was to repair the ceiling crack while his helpers painted the ceiling of the 2 bathrooms and proceeded to primer in preparation to paint.  Michael Ramirez and his helpers know what they are doing and very professional in their approach to their craft.  I would highly recommend A C L Painting and will definitely use them again."

Wallpapering questions, answered by experts

Your peel-and-stick wallpaper can fall off for multiple reasons, including high humidity levels, extreme temperature changes, poor installation, and even the wall surface. Textured walls can prevent the adhesive from fully sticking to the wall, making it more likely for the wallpaper to peel off. Low-quality wallpapers with weaker adhesives are also more likely to fall off prematurely.

While some people are confident in their ability to replace concrete by drilling out the broken pieces and replacing them with bagged concrete, it’s possible to run into snags that make hiring a professional worth it. Trying to level concrete slabs can require special equipment, which can be pricey to rent and tough to operate. It's also crucial to contact your town's municipal office to ensure you are allowed to take on the project without a permit.

Yes, you can apply peel-and-stick wallpaper over wood paneling, but it requires significant preparation for a good result. Peel-and-stick wallpaper has a weaker adhesive than traditional wallpaper and works best on smooth, non-textured surfaces like painted or primed drywall. Because wood paneling is often textured with grooves, any flaws in the underlying surface will likely be visible after application. To prepare the paneling, you must ensure the surface is free of cracks, holes, and protrusions by filling any indentations and sanding rough spots to create a smooth surface. An alternative is to remove the paneling and apply the wallpaper directly to the underlying drywall or plaster, provided it is in good condition.

No, you don’t always have to remove old wallpaper before applying a new layer. However, you should pull off the existing wallpaper if it’s cracked, peeling, or in poor condition. We’d also recommend against putting wallpaper over textured or dark-colored wallpaper because the old layer may be visible through the new one. In addition, if you try to hang new wallpaper over vinyl-coated wallpaper, the adhesive might not stick properly.

Hanging wallpaper may seem simple, but in practice it requires significant planning and finesse to make it look professional. To start, you need to get an even application of wallpaper paste across all of your wallpaper, which requires experience and large pasting tables to get right. You also need to plan out your design and match it exactly so that you don’t have imperfections in the finished product. It’s often better to hire a professional wallpaper hanger who can get the job done properly for a clean, smooth finish.
