"Handyman Carpentry came through for me and my family! Our door was kicked in and I needed to feel safe immediately. Mr. Kevin came through with a fast response, and great work. He kept in contact throughout the entire time! Reasonable and fair pricing. This was an emergency for me and Mr. Kevin and his squad came through. We will definitely be calling on him again for more carpentry and home improvement jobs! Thank you and I pray nothing but growth and success for you and your business!!"

"Michael responded quickly after my inquiry on Home Advisor. I texted him pictures of the damaged glass door and he promptly sent me a reasonable quote for the repair and indicated that he could schedule it the next day. He kept me updated by text message, arrived on time, and performed a beautiful repair. His service exceeded my expectations, and I would definitely use him again."

"They came - put up an non-opening replacement door - took my old door away - and when it came back looked like new! The leaded glass had a 'bracing bar' where the solder had broken - so, they rebuilt the leaded glass in the door (looks better than it did new)... Also, the hardware (dead bolt - latch/knob) had lost its finish due to the sun... - they also allowed me to pick out a new hardware set and put that on also... (extra charge of course... and the leaded glass repair was extra - I'm very, very pleased with the result! :-)"

"It was great. They were on time (hard quality to find around here), very professional and completed the job in about 45 minutes. I would definitely hire them again.
I lowered the rating on price, but they were less expensive than everyone else. I guess it's the price you pay for living in this area. Some contractors try to charge way too much.

"We called Toned Homes for this job based on previous excellent experience on other remodels in our home.  Toned Homes remodeled our master bath, replaced solid oak flooring and engineered flooring in a large part of our home, repaired walls, took down the old wallpaper in our kitchen and resurfaced the walls for  the paint, and painted the rest of the first floor of our home within the last 18 months.  Toned Homes stands behind their warranty--Tony took care of a tile problem that recently developed in the master bathroom shower--the tile had been discontinued so he scoured sources throughout the US to find enough tile to fix the broken tiles.  The shower is good as new and this is a testament to how he stands behind his work.  Our home is refreshed and updated thanks to the excellent work of Toned Homes.  Now--about the most recent remodel, the spare bathroom.  This bathroom needed to be contemporary but still warm and inviting.  I love to talk about decorating ideas and Tony will listen to me for as long as I need--very patient. Tony will set up appointments with all his resources to help pick out the materials. He met with me at his granite fabricator's business and a tile showroom--this was key to putting the look together.  He made sure I had samples of the granite, the floor tile (surrounds the Tub/Shower as well), and the decorative glass tiles so I could pick out wall colors and other items. A paint consultant at Lowes was extremely impressed with the granite/tile selections and we had a fun time picking the perfect blue and green paint for the walls.  She described the look as very sophisticated.  The cabinets were built to my exact specifications--they are beautiful and functional.  The final step was to pick out the mirror.  The Frame Gallery--another Toned Homes find-- helped me pick the perfect frame for the mirror.  Kelly, owner, brought the frame samples to my home, we picked the perfect frame, she measured and about 10 days later it was installed.  The result is a bathroom I absolutely love (never went into that bathroom before it was sooo ugly).  Even my husband loves it--and he is a bit hard to impress!

Let's face it--remodeling is a pain!  The schedule changes, materials may arrive late, personnel get sick--you name it and it will happen!  This remodel had some of these glitches.  Tony worked them out and I knew, based on past experience, that all would be to my satisfaction.  His personnel (there were 2 main construction personnel assigned to this job and one plumbing company) are always friendly, clean, and professional--they never leave a mess and keep things picked up during the job.  I like that Tony assigns specific personnel from start to finish--you get to know who is in your home every day and that builds trust.  I think this gives the personnel more pride in the job they do because they know they are the only ones responsible for the outcome--and they did a great job!  I recommend Toned Homes to my friends and I would definitely use them again!"

Glass Block questions, answered by experts

Heavy glass tends to be more expensive than thin glass because it is stronger and more durable. In most cases, ¼-inch-thick glass is ideal for mirrors, and ⅛-inch-thick glass is ideal for residential windows. Heavier glass isn’t always necessary, and can be more challenging to hang or install. Work with a local window installation pro for replacement or new construction windows.

Although glass block windows are made of multiple layers of thick glass, they can still break. If an individual block shatters, it can be removed and replaced, but this is a job for a window repair professional. The project is often complex and may require breaking the block further for removal. Do not attempt to handle it yourself, as the broken glass can be dangerously sharp. A professional will have the necessary tools and expertise to replace the broken glass block quickly and safely. Before hiring, confirm that the repair pro has experience with this specific type of window.

Options include tempered, laminated, and tinted glass for various needs.

Glass block installation can be relatively expensive due to the range of material costs and the labor time to assemble this type of specialty window. The process proceeds slowly as the glass does not absorb moisture from mortar and silicone caulk takes longer to harden, leaving spacers to hold up the structure until the caulk or mortar begins to cure. Plus, if your current windows have structural issues or damage, you’ll need to repair them before beginning the project, increasing your bottom line.

Yes, many professionals provide custom-cut glass replacements for enclosures that require precise sizing.
