At Ruben Sanchez Drywall, we take great pride in our experience, expertise, quality, and customer service that we provide to meet the consumers' needs. It is our mission to provide excellent workmanship and complete customer satisfaction from start to completion of a project. In order to understand the needs and expectations of our customers, we take great care to work and communicate with every customer in a professional manner. Our reputation is based on service, safety, and quality, regardless of how large or small the job.

"Ruben is friendly, accommodating, and knowledgeable in both residential and commercial, but subcontracts some work. He did a descent job building a few interior office walls and correcting most of his mistakes, but is best suited working in areas not occupied. You?ll want to provide sketches with measurements to ensure no miscommunication (e.g., exact light placement/height). The statement of work should specify how the area should be prepped for construction/painting, what constitutes a finished project (e.g., baseboards included or not, what will be painted), and how the area will be restored. Our main issue was lack of proper construction/paint dust mitigation and covering floors/walls/ceiling/furniture with the right materials. He caused damage to the flooring (carpets and wood), baseboards, and one of the sprinkler heads. The latter being at least $1200 to repair. He tried to clean, but it was too much. So he wrote off the unpaid balance to help reimburse us. "

"They lacked communication from the start. They came to the house on 05/12 and said they could start work on Thursday, 05/15 and finish within a week by Thursday, 05/22. The agreement was removal of popcorn ceiling, texture application, painting of the ceiling, and clean up for $3,000. We agreed to pay $700 to start , $2000 when texture was ready, and $300 when the work was completed. They began work on 05/15 and when we went to the house that evening, we saw they left our back door wide open with all of the lights on inside the house, which is a major security risk as anyone would have been able to break into our house. We advised them of this issue via text and paid them a deposit of $700 on 05/16. They worked 05/16 and requested $2,000 on 05/17 stating they would apply texture the same day at 3:30pm. We submitted another deposit of $2,000, as requested, on 05/17 but no more work was ever completed, nor has any work been done since. On 05/23 (one day past the deadline) we reached out to them to follow up and they told us they needed more time and that the project would be completed 05/28. We granted the extension and when nothing was done on 05/27 we messaged them again to confirm they would be done on 05/28, expressing our concern over the delay as we have to move in to the house and they responded “05/29”. We messaged them on 05/28 and 05/29 expressing further concern over the fact that still nothing had been done and they responded on 05/29 advising they needed another week promising to finish by 06/05. We advised them that they needed to be done by Monday 06/02 or we would have to find someone else. They did not respond to that message on 05/29, nor did they respond to our messages sent on 06/02, 06/03, 06/04. We called them on 06/04 and the calls went straight to voicemail so we called them from another phone number and they picked up advising the project would be completed 06/05. The project was not completed on 06/05 and they have not responded to any messages or calls since the phone call on 06/04. To date, no additional work was completed after 05/16. They still have a key to our house and have not responded to our request for them to return the key and give us a refund."

Drywall Insulation questions, answered by experts

Installation can take a few hours to a few days, depending on the project's size and complexity.

Spray foam insulation can last up to 80 to 100 years, making your investment worthwhile over the long run. Closed-cell spray foam tends to have the highest durability. Open-cell foam is subject to moisture, which can lead to deterioration. Remember that some spray foams will damage plastic piping, so consult a pro if you have PVC or CPVC pipes.

Single-pane windows might let in the cold, but if you’re not ready for a long-term solution or window replacement, there are quick fixes to keep your space warmer. Start by sealing gaps with weatherstripping or caulking around the frame to block drafts. For an extra barrier, apply window insulation film to the glass, trapping an air pocket between the film and the window. Thick curtains or thermal drapes can also help keep the chill at bay. And if you’re in a pinch and looking to get creative, bubble wrap can provide a surprisingly effective layer of insulation—just spritz the window with water and press it on, bubble side in.

For a truly DIY solution to protect your outdoor faucets from freezing, you can craft your own faucet sock out of spare rags, plastic shopping bags, and duct tape—but this method might not be as effective (or attractive) as store-bought. If you choose to DIY your own outdoor faucet cover, be aware that rags, old towels, and other fabric you might use to wrap the faucet can absorb water like a sponge and could cause problems if it freezes.

Yes, brick houses are better insulated, because the bricks slow down the passage of air from the outside to the inside and vice-versa. This helps to stabilize the internal temperature of the home. When combined with proper residential insulation, brick houses are more efficient and better insulated than other types.
