"For the past two years, there has been heavy overhang from my neighbor backyard tree on the fence separating our property. Mr. S assessed the situation and suggested a trimming that would remove some of the limbs and would not damage the tree. The tree trimmers arrived within the scheduled timeframe and worked meticulously. The service was completed and included debris cleanup and removal with a fare price. "I cannot say enough kind words about the experience I have had with TWS Fence. Let’s start with Jefry was faced with - I had an existing chainlink that was never completed. We needed to secure the sides so my small dogs wouldn’t get out and create a swinging gate to span a 5’ opening with slope. Additionally, we had a retaining wall and the AC condenser in the way on the other side. What posed a challenge to me and prior owners was no challenge at all for Jefry at TWS. Jefry asked a lot of questions to determine the best course, he listened to my needs and came up with a fantastic solution. My dogs are secure, my landscaper can get his riding mower into the backyard (huge plus!) and it looks great. It also doesn’t distract from the street view. When the gates needed an adjustment Jefry didn’t hesitate, he didn’t complain, and he came over the same day. I have a lot of experience with contractors and TWS tops them all. He’s also one of the nicest humans you will ever meet. "

Tree roots are hearty and complex systems, so they don’t die immediately after the rest of the tree is removed. If you leave the root system in place, it takes anywhere from two to seven years for it to run out of nutrients. It is worth noting, however, that the roots stop growing and expanding after cutting down the rest of the tree.

Unfortunately, palm tree stumps are one of the most difficult types to remove due to how their roots grow. Unlike other trees, palm tree roots grow horizontally and vertically. Palm tree roots grow as deep as three feet into the ground, although soil and growing conditions could mean they go as far as 50 inches into the earth. 

If you want to be able to repurpose the grass in the area where you removed a stump later, you’ll have to dig quite deep—and perhaps wide—to trim away all the roots.

Any cutting of tree roots can hurt or kill a tree, which is why it's recommended you don’t do it unless the roots are damaging or invasive on a nearby structure like your home.
