"Cesar was great to work this. Came out immediately and provided a good quote. His crew was able to come out the next day. Power washed the fence, replaced some damaged boards and rebuilt the gates. Restained everything, the fence looks great. Cesar walked through with me ensuring I was satisfied."

"Platinum prices were very competitive and the work was very detailed. The pressure washed was done the night before, and the old gutters were removed a few days earlier. They were on time and started working immediately after Chris, the project manager, instructed them on what to do. They caulked all the seems on the wood before starting the painting and protected other areas. Chris was here at the start and end of both painting and gutters projects. He was very responsive through out the work. The gutters were installed a few days after. Everything looks great, I’ll definitely hire Platinum in the future for the inside painting."

"We had a great experience with 360 Painting. Korey is knowledgable, professional, and will work to make sure you are satisfied with the job. His crew was efficient and did high quality work, at a competitive price. We had them stain our fence and re-stain our garage door and are very happy with the results. We also appreciated his professional documentation for the estimate and invoicing. Part of the project was covered by insurance, so good documentation was important to us. I find a lot of contractors have much less formal documentation, which can cause some issues when working with insurance companies. Korey is also just a great guy. He was friendly with our kids and always very positive throughout the process. I felt like I was working with a friend. We are hiring him back for another job inside the house soon, and I will be recommending 360 Painting to anyone who asks me for a recommendation!"

Deck Staining questions, answered by experts

When applying multiple coats, wait four to six hours for each coat to dry. Not waiting long enough can result in streaks, peeling, and uneven color. Plus, it will be more difficult to discern where the second coat has already been applied.

You don’t necessarily have to remove all the old paint before repainting your deck, but it’s best to remove as much as possible to ensure a smooth and long-lasting finish. Prioritize scraping off loose, peeling, or flaking paint, and sand down rough areas to create a smooth surface for the new paint to bond with.

Applying a sealer or topcoat after staining wood is highly recommended, though not always strictly required. A sealer protects the wood from moisture, UV rays, and weather-related issues, which is especially important for outdoor surfaces like decks and fences. It also enhances the stain's durability, prevents fading over time, and gives the wood a cleaner, more professional-looking finish. For some indoor applications, a sealer may not be necessary, depending on the type of stain used and the level of protection needed. It's always best to check the stain manufacturer's recommendations and consider the wood's intended use and exposure when deciding whether to apply a sealer.

You can apply stain over peeling stain, but it’s not a good idea. Your old stain will get in the way of your new stain bonding to the wood, so you’re likely going to see the same issue again shortly after application. Your best option is to sand off the old stain and clean the surface thoroughly before applying new stain.

You may be wondering: can you paint cement? Fortunately, the answer is yes.

To change the color of your cinder blocks, you have two options. You can either paint them or stain them. Either way, you'll be able to choose from a wide range of color options. Some popular colors for cinder block painting include off-white shades and gray tones, which add a modern spin to the traditional gray blocks.
