"We had to replace the sewer line under the slab. It was a big job, but the crew from Nick's did the work without any problems. They cleaned up afterwards and tested the plumbing. Wille Johnson's crew was very professional."

"Show Plumbing exceeded my expectations beyond measure during the entire process of repairing my leaky kitchen faucet. I experienced first-hand Show Plumbing’s core values of honesty, trustworthiness, reliability and professionalism from 1) the initial phone contact and follow up call with Jessica responding to my Angie’s List request; 2) to my honest conversation with Jason regarding the estimated cost to repair the leaky kitchen faucet; and 3) to the actual superb and quality craftmanship of Preston (the service technician) who repaired my leaky kitchen faucet. Show Plumbing’s communication with me was professional, courteous, consistent, clear and detailed at each step of the repair process (i.e., phone calls to actual onsite service). Preston arrived on time and adhered to the COVID protocols while at my home. Preston was extremely professional. Upon assessing the issues and while onsite, Preston provided me (in writing) three (3) recommended repair options, which allowed me the opportunity to choose the option that fitted my budget. Preston took special care to protect my sink/counter/floors–and he cleaned up during and after the repairs. I am very grateful for Show Plumbing. They are a company that put customer service and customer care first. I would highly recommend Show Plumbing for your plumbing needs."

Customers say: Quality work

"This company is awesome! I had my foundation repaired so I needed a plumber to come out and make sure I had no breaks in my sewer line. Tom sent Greg a very nice and professional gentlemen showed me with a camera that my lines had no breaks then cleaned out a drain line caused by A/C slug without breaking the bank like most plumbing companies. I have finally found a plumbing company for life."

"The quality was outstanding. I get my sewer roto-rooted every few years. All previous plumbers simply came out, ran the snake down my line, and gave me a bill. But this time, Preston poked a long screw driver into the dirt to determine where the line exited the slab, filled and emptied the washing machine to judge how bad the blockage was, THEN ran the snake. Afterwards he re-filled and emptied the washing machine and showed me that the water was flowing freely, and explained that the obstruction was beneath the middle of the house, rather than a tree root in the back yard. I'm sure I could have found a cheaper plumber, but I'm very OK with $250 for 90 minutes on site."

"I had all of my old toilets replaced with new water-efficient models by Kohler, and I couldn?t be happier with the service! From the first call to the final installation, the plumber was prompt, professional, and courteous. They helped me choose the right models for my home, completed the job quickly, and left everything clean and tidy. The new toilets work great and are already making a difference in water usage. I highly recommend 100% Plumbing Houston for anyone looking for quality plumbing work and eco-friendly upgrades!"

"I run a restaurant, and Buddy and his guys do a myriad of items for me. Faucet repairs for my backwash sinks, bathroom repairs, clearing clogged drains and lines (including running camera through line to help locate a potential major issue), grease line clean out, Tankless water heater servicing, and much more. They usually can be there same day, and are always friendly and happy to help. When they work in the area, they come by and eat with me too! Can't beat that."

Sewer Cleaning questions, answered by experts

Never pour used motor oil down the drain. Doing so can have serious environmental consequences, including contaminating groundwater, endangering animals, and killing vegetation. It can also clog your pipes, causing backups in your plumbing or the wastewater treatment plant. In most places, pouring motor oil down the drain is illegal, whether you do it in your home or a storm drain.

It is generally safe to stay in a house that smells like sewage for a short time, but you should get the problem fixed as soon as possible. While the level of sewer gas is usually low enough to only cause minor symptoms, prolonged inhalation can lead to headaches, nausea, or respiratory irritation. High levels of gas exposure can be more dangerous, and high concentrations of methane—a component of sewer gas—can pose an explosion risk in enclosed spaces. If you smell sewer gas in your home, ventilate the area and call a professional to locate, assess, and fix the problem, as it will not go away on its own.

Knowing the signs can alert you to a clogged drain line. Clogs cause slow drainage or cause no drainage (if there’s a complete blockage). You may also notice foul odors, gurgling noises, water backing up in other appliances on the same line, or a poorly flushing toilet. If you experience any of these issues and think your line might be clogged, call a plumber.

The cost to unclog a drain varies based on the location and severity of the clog. For simple clogs within your home, such as in a sink, toilet, or shower, hiring a plumber typically costs between $110 and $350, with an average of around $200. Snaking a toilet or sink usually costs between $110 and $275, while a bathtub or shower clog costs about $225.

For a more serious clog in the main sewer line, the cost is higher. Clearing a main line clog generally costs between $200 and $600, with an average of about $380. However, prices can range from as low as $100 for snaking a minor clog to over $1,600, particularly if advanced methods like video inspection and hydrojetting are needed for a large or hard-to-reach blockage. Some severe main line clogs can cost upwards of $1,000 to clear depending on factors like the cause of the clog, its distance from an accessible cleanout, and whether the pipe is located beneath an occupied space (e.g., in an apartment building). You may be able to save money on minor clogs by using a drain snake or bladder yourself.

Grease buildup, tree roots, and foreign objects often cause blockages. Regular maintenance prevents major issues.
