Customers say: Quick response

"I had the exterior of my front door refinished. The existing finish had flaked off in areas and was dull from sun exposure. Randy sanded, revarnished, sealed and reinstalled the door. The results are beautiful! The door truly looks brand new. I would definitely recommend their services."

"I've been using this company for quite some time. He last installed a door for me that I purchased from Lowe's. Working with this company is very good. I've always been satisfied with his work, and I have other projects I'll have him work on in the future. Great company."

"Miguel and Eduardo did a fantastic job on the restoration of our mud room and living room after we sustained water damage due to a leaky pipe. They offered a great price for the two day job which included the replacement of Sheetrock, floor trim, door trim, a door frame, and paint. We could not be happier with the end result or with their customer service throughout our experience. You will not regret trusting them with your project!"

"Excellent Job as always! John is crucial to upkeep and remodel our 1980's house. This time he did pressure washing and I couldn't believe how great the house could look, looks new again. Plus, we had an assortment of necessary repairs involving gutters and soffit, pocket door repair, etc. I was really impressed with the beautiful job on my new master bathroom door which required a larger opening, new trim, new door. I've used John several times in the last few years as we update our house and he does a beautiful job, works efficiently, and is professional in planning and performing his work. Plan to schedule him again soon!"

Doors questions, answered by experts

Inspecting your storm door regularly is important to catch any issues early and ensure its proper functionality. It's recommended to perform a thorough inspection at least once every season. This means you should check your storm door for any signs of wear, damage, or malfunction approximately four times per year—during spring, summer, fall, and winter.

If you don’t know which door sweep to buy, look into getting a strip or bristle sweep. They’re easy to find at the store, work well for most doors, and the simple installation is DIYable. Before buying one, measure your door width and make sure the one you want is long enough. Most door sweeps are 36 inches long, and you can cut them down to size with a hacksaw.

You can often fit a new door slab into an old frame as long as the frame’s in decent shape. The frame needs to be solid, square, and free of warping or rot. The new door has to match the old one in width, height, and thickness, and the hinge and knob placements need to line up or be adjusted carefully. However, if your frame is damaged, swapping just the door won’t cut it. In that case, replacing the entire unit would be the best move for a smooth, secure installation.

The most common size for an interior door is 80 inches tall and 28 to 32 inches wide. However, a standard interior door can measure anywhere from 24 to 36 inches wide, depending on its intended use and the available space. According to most building codes in the U.S., a door must be at least 80 inches tall and 24 inches wide.

A hollow core door has an average life expectancy of about 20 to 40 years, with most lasting 30 years before they need to be replaced. Doors that are well cared for can last on the longer end, as long as no severe damage occurs.
