"Robert and his crew did some extensive remodeling for my needs. He installed a new full bathroom, remodeled one bathroom for wheelchair access, and remodeled a third bathroom. His crew installed new tile floors, and repaired the old tile floors. They installed wide doors exterior doors to accommodate wheelchair. And they enclosed a patio into an insulated sun-room. Robert was easy to work with, and was real reasonable. He also did a lot of work under Veterans Administration and ADA guidelines and was qualified and approved to do veteran Adapted Housing. I highly recommend Robert and his crew."

"3 Plumbers & Dad LLC were excellent to work with. I needed to get a Pressure Reducing Valve installed because the PSI on the water pressure from the main line to the house was too high. I found them through Angie's list, and called to set up an appointment for the quote. They have a really user friendly reminder system so after calling I got an automated email with the date/time and they arrived on time for the appointment. After that initial visit Teresa sent me 4 quotes! The first had just the work I initially called about, installing the PRV. The other 3 had additional options based on their best practice recommendations - such as installing a Thermal Expansion Tank to prevent PRV discharge and replacing the flexible piping on my water heater with solder weld copper. Each quote had a different price point and thorough explanation of each component so I could make a well informed decision and pick the option that best suited my needs and budget. I chose to upgrade the project from just the PRV to the PRV along with the Thermal Expansion Tank and Copper piping. The install went very well, again sent me an appointment reminder and were on time for the install appointment. They were very professional and showed me the work and the new location for shutting off the main line in the event of an emergency after the PRV install. I highly recommend working with them, I will absolutely use them again for any future plumbing needs!"

Small jobs welcome

"Duey's Plumbing had been recommended by area residents, family and Realtors. I called Duey's. The company quickly sent out a serviceman. He called me an hour after starting the job. He'd dug up the wet area and discovered that there was an underground back-flow device that had failed, via corrosion, and was leaking water into the soil. He told me that the current code required a vacuum break device above ground to insure that no contaminants from the irrigation system were allowed to flow back into the house/city water supply. He also told me how much that would cost for the parts and the labor hours (2 more hours). We also talked about the best place to put that device. I wanted it installed out of sight around the corner of the house, but he insisted it be installed in the front of the house, near the area of the leak; less distance to trench I suppose. I came out later and found the job had been done and the area filled back in. Isn't Caliche an amazing substance? (calcium carbonate) This tar-baby like substance is very difficult to work with when wet (It sticks to you and your tools, worse, it accumulates until you have a very large and heavy mass weighing you and your tools down.) and emulates all of the attributes of concrete when dry. I thought that i had regular top soil..... I suppose that over the last 36 years that the calcium carbonate of the subsurface caliche has percolated up into the original top soil and thus incorporated it into the rest of the stuff below ground....yes, this entire area sits atop an old reef structure. No chance of removing the stuff, its' everywhere.

My hat is off to the technician from Duey's that did this job. He arrived at the job site and got right to work digging up that wet spot of caliche soil in 100+ Degree temperature with Texas Humidity. He got the job done with a very high degree of quality in three hours. The bill arrived the next week and was exactly what had been agreed upon. What more can you ask for; Integrity, professionalism, communication and timeliness, great work ethics, and great ethics! That is exactly what I'd been told to expect! I was not disappointed. Thank you very, very much."

Drain Pipe Installation questions, answered by experts

If the drain pump on your washing machine is continuously draining, it could be that the control board is damaged and requires repair, or there’s a clogged or kinked drain hose. If you can’t locate the problem, you’ll want to have a plumber or appliance repair expert come take a look.

Anything you drop down your sink runs the risk of damaging and clogging your pipes. Hair, bits of food, and other debris can catch on the item and build up over time, causing a clog. Even if it’s not valuable, it’s definitely worth trying to retrieve the item, or at the very least, asking a pro for specific advice.

Professional tools include drain snakes, hydro jets, cameras for line inspection, and enzymatic or chemical cleaners for dissolution.

No. You should dispose of all oil-based finishing products through a local hazardous waste program. Not only can oil-based finishes be hazardous for the environment if disposed of in the sink, but they can cause clogs in your pipes and stop up your drains. Most municipal garbage or waste disposal companies have a specific location or pick-up schedule for hazardous materials, so that’s your best bet to get rid of excess finishing products.

It is generally not recommended to pour hot or boiling water down a drain to unfreeze pipes due to significant risks. In some cases, the sudden temperature change can cause more ice buildup or produce steam, which increases pressure and could cause the pipe to burst, leading to costly damage and potential burn injuries. While hot water might help with a partially frozen drainpipe, it is unlikely to thaw a completely blocked water pipe further down the system. Additionally, boiling water can damage plastic pipes over time. Safer and more effective methods include using a space heater near the frozen section or applying hot towels directly to the pipe.
