"3 Plumbers & Dad LLC were excellent to work with. I needed to get a Pressure Reducing Valve installed because the PSI on the water pressure from the main line to the house was too high. I found them through Angie's list, and called to set up an appointment for the quote. They have a really user friendly reminder system so after calling I got an automated email with the date/time and they arrived on time for the appointment. After that initial visit Teresa sent me 4 quotes! The first had just the work I initially called about, installing the PRV. The other 3 had additional options based on their best practice recommendations - such as installing a Thermal Expansion Tank to prevent PRV discharge and replacing the flexible piping on my water heater with solder weld copper. Each quote had a different price point and thorough explanation of each component so I could make a well informed decision and pick the option that best suited my needs and budget. I chose to upgrade the project from just the PRV to the PRV along with the Thermal Expansion Tank and Copper piping. The install went very well, again sent me an appointment reminder and were on time for the install appointment. They were very professional and showed me the work and the new location for shutting off the main line in the event of an emergency after the PRV install. I highly recommend working with them, I will absolutely use them again for any future plumbing needs!"

"Mr. Longo was very quick to respond to my request for help. A sprinkler pipe had been broken by a tree root. He demonstrated expert knowledge in locating and repairing the broken pipe. The cost for his service call was moderate. I particularly appreciated his kindness and professional manner. I will employ his services again."

"This is our second time using Pro Irrigation.  Things went so well the first time that we will continue to use them.  We are out of state landlords and went to Angies List to get this contractor.  They contacted our renters and scheduled the time to fix the problem when it was convenient for our renters. The next day we got notice from Rodney that it had been fixed.  Easy and effortless,  leaving us as landlords very happy and our tenants as well.  Highly Recommend this company.  They fixed a broken pipe and adjusted some of our sprinkler heads.

"This job went very well. The project manager was thorough (he provided a schematic with work to be completed) and offered three options (good, better, best). Likewise, he returned a second time to review the three estimates in detail. Of four estimates I got, Hunt was the only one to be that thorough and attentive. (To put into context, one small company was a no show on the estimate meeting, another large regional company was one month out in getting us an estimate meeting date. Another would have the "little gal" in the office send an estimate...sorry, we don't hire misogynists. The low bid had no physical address, etc.) Hunt's price was in the middle on a per/pier price. No sales pressure, but rather informative. Additional, un-estimated work and cost was required ($875 or 4%) but that was partially based on inspection engineer overzealousness as I see it, no fault on Hunt's part. One worker left cigarette butts in my yard driveway, but that was taken care of just by asking for it to stop. Hunt needs to provide restroom facilities for some workers, but otherwise workers were super courteous. Invoices are easy to pay. I also paid in three parts (before, during, upon completion). I received a lot of texts, emails, and even a phone call asking about how the job was going...maybe too many...but you can't fault a company for being too inquiring about their work. All work started on time and was completed when estimated. I would recommend G. L. Hunt to anyone."

Drain Pipe Installation questions, answered by experts

Most clogs are resolved quickly, often within an hour. More complex issues requiring pipe disassembly might take longer.

It is okay to use a drain auger on a toilet, just make sure you are using the correct tip size. The auger is a plumbing snake with a protective sleeve to protect the porcelain toilet bowl from getting scratched. Using too large of an auger can cause the snake to loop back and damage the inside of the drain and plumbing.

If your washing machine drain is clogged, that isn’t a good sign. Unlike toilet drains or kitchen sink drains, there isn’t matter that is easily broken up with a plumbing snake, and more care is required. If you’re in an old house or have mineral-rich water, there could be a buildup inside the pipe. Either way, if the blockage isn’t obvious and doesn’t dislodge with a snake, you need to call a pro—otherwise, you risk damaging integral plumbing.

If you try a drain snake and various DIY methods for unclogging drains to no avail, bring in a professional plumber to assess the situation. Also, if multiple drains in your home are backing up or you smell sewage, a visit from a plumber is best. You can expect your drain cleaning costs to fall around $250, and this can include an assessment of what’s caught in your plumbing and if there’s a larger, underlying problem. You should also consider calling a pro if you need to snake a toilet, as DIYing this could lead to a cracked fixture.

If your drain line is clogged, your AC might stop cooling, shut down, or refuse to turn on at all. Otherwise, you might see your AC leaking water, find standing water or water damage near the unit, or notice a musty smell coming out of your air conditioner or vents.
