"Mr. Morgan showed up and used tools to narrow where the leak was. As a first time home owner, and first time having plumbing issues. He took the time to explain the processes to fix the leak, and answer all my questions. He showed up on time to complete the project."

"The entire process was professional and seamless just as I knew it would be. From scheduling my appointment to the technician Ryan coming out. Ryan removed my old toilet and installed my new chair height water sense dual flush toilet along with rebuilding and installing a new shower control knob."

"Youngs called 20 minutes before the scheduled appointment to let me know the technician was on his way. He arrived on time, was courteous and unclogged the kitchen drain line within minutes. This company is contacted with my home warranty service so I cannot comment on their actual price for service, but well worth my $75 fee.

"Awesome job. Joey was on time, completed the job in 1.5 hours, very reasonably priced, installed quality equipment with a parts and labor warranty. Additionally, Joey left the work area clean which doesn’t always happen with contractors. I highly recommend his quality work and professionalism. jb Flower Mound"

"They did a great job! It went faster than I expected. I asked one of the guys if he had time, would he check a leak under my kitchen sink. He was very thorough. It turns out that we had a bolt still attached underneath the sink from a previous water filter installation. We needed a different type of bolt and he switched the bolts for free! He even gave me some much needed advice to help prevent further leaks from the faucet area. I really appreciated the extra mile! I am very pleased with Lone Star Water Services and would gladly recommend them to others."

"The installation of the new unit went great!  Then the next day the furnace control went out on the other.  We thought we had that unit fixed and the compressor went out on it the next day.  They came out as quickly as possible after each problem and fixed it as fast as they could get parts and such.  They are great and we highly recommend the company!"

Install Garbage Disposal questions, answered by experts

Soil is just one of the items you shouldn't put down a garbage disposal. Garbage disposals are only meant for soft, non-fibrous foods. Large amounts of topsoil, dirt, or rocks will damage the blades of your garbage disposal or clog the pipes. If a small amount of dirt goes down the drain as you repot a plant, you shouldn't have to worry, but never dump a whole pot of soil in the sink for fast disposal.

The main issue with garbage disposals is clogging. This can mean a clogging of the pipes that expel the food along with water, or a clogging of the mechanical parts themselves. The problem lies in the solution because you can’t easily see clogs if they’re inside the system, and reaching in to dislodge stuck items is a risky proposal. Call a pro and ask what they would do, but if you can’t see the clog easily, and running the unit won’t free it, you need to let a professional handle the fix.

The most common garbage disposal size in the U.S. is 1/2 horsepower. This size is ideal for households with three or fewer people or those that don't produce much food waste. Although 1/2 horsepower can't handle the typical food waste load for a household of four (which is about 250 pounds of food waste annually) as effectively as 3/4 horsepower, it remains the most common size of garbage disposal on the market.

Replacing a garbage disposal costs anywhere from $150 to $950, but the average cost is somewhere around $550. There are two types of garbage disposal units, and continuous feed disposals tend to cost more than batch feed disposals. Going for an aluminum garbage disposal is also significantly cheaper than choosing a stainless steel garbage disposal. You'll also need to factor in the horsepower of the motor, labor, and the removal and disposal of your old unit.

Once you have your garbage disposal disconnected, you can remove the mounting bracket by unscrewing the bolts that are holding the bracket. You can back them out just enough to pop off the snap ring, which prevents the bottom portion of the bracket from disconnecting from the top when you unscrew the bolts. Use a regular screwdriver to pop off the snap ring, and the rest of the components should fall off by themselves.
