"We highly recommend Wayne for drywall replacement and repairs. He gave a fair price for drywall work in two rooms and was always very prompt and efficient. We were really happy to find someone who is willing to take small jobs and plan to hire him again in the future."

"Zoran did a fantastic job. His quote was reasonable and his work was outstanding. Communicated very effectively and frequently as needed. We had to tear out backsplash which tore out the drywall. He made it whole again. Would not hesitate to call him back out next time I need any type of drywall work. 10 out of 10."

"Manuel completed two projects for me at different times. One involved drywall and painting and the other involved drywall, painting and a bit of carpentry. Both jobs were done very quickly considering what was involved. The work, itself, was excellent and exceeded my expectations both times. When finished, the holes in my living room ceiling and underneath my kitchen sink looked better than new ! In addition, his prices are very fair for the time spent and quality achieved. I could not recommend him more highly. Hire him once and he will be your call-back professional ever after."

"I had an upstairs sink overflow right before I had to leave town. I called PatchMaster to fix my damaged drywall and they were very responsive. I had a quote and appointment set before I had to leave. When tech arrived, Daniel was 5 min early, clean and professional. The work was excellent and they did a great job cleaning up the work area too. I highly recommend you give them a call if needed."

Drywall questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can mount a TV on plaster walls—as long as you attach it to the studs. Alternatively, you can use toggle bolts, molly bolts, or another type of hardware that’s strong enough to support a TV.

If you aren’t comfortable with this type of project, you can hire a pro. The cost of mounting a TV to a plaster wall ranges from $25 to $600 (or more), depending on the TV’s weight, size, and other factors.

You can plaster over regular drywall, but it's essential to prepare the surface properly. Before plastering, the drywall should be clean, free of dust, and any loose or peeling paint should be removed. Applying a primer specifically designed for plastering can improve adhesion. Some professionals recommend applying a base coat of plaster or joint compound to create a better surface for the plaster to adhere to. Proper preparation ensures a smooth and durable plaster finish over regular drywall.

If the holes in the plaster are small, you can fill them with layers of patching plaster until they’re filled. After it dries, you can sand the plaster and paint over it. If the hole is much larger, consider using bonding plaster first and then a layer of patching plaster, completing the process with sanding and a layer of paint.

The easiest way to remove texture from walls is the soak-and-scrape method. You’ll need to spray a section of the wall with water and let the water soak in and soften the texture. Then, you need to scrape the texture off using a drywall taping knife. This method works best with unpainted walls since paint prevents water from saturating the textured joint compound.

Small patches can be DIY, but professionals handle large-scale repairs with seamless results.
