"Paul was amazing. He came the very next day and was on time, he got the job done and i was thoroughly impressed. He also showed me where the water cut off was in my new home and made sure I understood the entire repair that he completed. If I ever have another plumbing issue I will 100% call the pipe doctor again."

"We contacted Allende Irrigation to give a bid for our new irrigation system on our 1.5 acres. We were extremely impressed by the professionalism and promptness of their company. We hired them to install our system and we could not have been happier with their service - before, during and after. Installation day was amazing. They came extremely prepared and the crew was 100% go as soon as they arrived. My husband and I were amazed on how efficient the supervisor and the entire crew operated. Everyone knew their job and they operated like a well oiled machine. Excellent communication and efficiency. Our new irrigation works fantastic - especially with the app. One other thing that impressed me, so very much, is the prompt and professional communication with the business office. I would HIGHLY recommend this company and actually already have recommended them to my neighbors. Amazing experience! I would give them higher than 5 stars if I could."

"I found New Gen Plumbing on Angi and selected them due their high rating. Well the rating was well deserved. They contacted me the same day and scheduled a FREE consultation. I was scared they were going to tell me I needed a new wyd heater but they didn’t. Thank goodness! I have a tankless water heater they simply needed to be descaled. Sixto did a great job and I’m back in business with a plan to keep using them going forward. Sixto even gave me some pointers on my water filtration system the day would help the overall performance and efficiency of my water heater. Much appreciated. I highly recommend!!!"

Drain Pipe Installation questions, answered by experts

If you're dealing with a clogged sink drain, you may be able to avoid removing the drain by using a plunger to dislodge the clog. While we associate plungers with toilets, they can do the same job with your sink drain. Be gentle, though, as forceful movements can push clogs further into your plumbing system and make them more difficult to remove. Additionally, make sure you’re using a sink plunger—with a flat bottom—and not a toilet plunger—which has a smaller bottom protruding from the larger flat piece.

You can try several easy methods to unclog a drain, one of the easiest and most effective of which is to use a mixture of baking soda and vinegar. This will help dislodge and dissolve the clog to move it down the drain pipes. Pour 1/2 cup baking soda into the drain, followed by 1/2 cup of white vinegar. Dump several cups of boiling water (or hot water if you have PVC pipes) into the drain and let sit for up to one hour. Run hot water to clear the drain.

With a one-way cleanout, you can access your sewer line from one direction. Depending on the way it curves, a plumber can either access the side of the pipe that goes into your home or the side that goes to your yard. On the other hand, two-way cleanouts allow pros to access both sides of the sewer line, thanks to their dual-pipe design (they’re usually U-shaped).

That pungent rotten egg smell coming from your drain is likely the buildup of biofilm—hair, skin, and soap scum that turns into a black sticky mess. In this case, pouring down near-boiling water, baking soda, and white vinegar will remove the smell. Keep in mind that a rotten egg smell is occasionally a sign of larger sewage line clogs and other related issues.

A two-way cleanout can help if there’s already a clog, but the best strategy to prevent one is by not rinsing grease, oil, or fat down your drains, not flushing or rinsing coffee grounds or egg shells down your drains, flushing only human waste and toilet paper (so no diapers, period products, bathroom wipes, or paper towels), and using drain guards on all of your drains.
