My name is Kyle and I own and operate Dallas Rustic. What started as a hobby has grown into a business and has expanded to a full line of hand crafted, unique, rustic furniture and home decor. I have a passion for building things and my favorite medium is wood. I love the natural beauty of wood grain and texture and I love making something useful and beautiful from it. Metal work is a close second. I love to mix the two together to get that rustic, industrial look. Each piece of furniture or home decor is handmade from start to finish so every piece is unique. I take great pride in the pieces created by Dallas Rustic and guarantee 100% client satisfaction. If you’ve never owned one of our pieces you should call us, you won’t regret it.

"This guy named Chad came out to my home a couple of months ago to replace a kitchen garbage disposal, kitchen sink, and the fixtures with new ones that I purchased. I chose him because he had some good reviews on another site. He seemed to be very nervous when he first came, but I figured it was because this was his first time coming to my home. He arrived around 10:30am. Being that I'm not comfortable with inviting people in my home, I stuck around to watch him. I asked him how long he had been doing this type of work and he made claims that he was certified and he had been doing it up north for about 5 years. The kitchen sink was a basic sink, and I replaced it with a newer upgraded one(Still pretty basic, but a little nicer). Due to my old garbage disposal, leaking it completely messed up the floor underneath my kitchen cabinet. So he measured that area and went to HD to get new board for the bottom of the kitchen cabinet. He wanted to put some type of plastic material underneath, but I wanted wood. So after he made it back, he begin to work. The first thing that he tackled was the wood floor, which I appreciated. That seemed to go pretty good. Then he switched out the kitchen sink, disposal and fixtures. I noticed that he was struggling with the fixtures and disposal because after all the new fixtures were installed I notice that water was leaking from the hot/cold faucets and spout. I also noticed water on the new board that was installed. After looking in the box and noticing some rings/ gaskets laying in plastic; he say" Maybe these go on the faucets. I thought that these were just extras that they put in the box". That's where I started to panic a little, because anyone would know that if these pieces are in the box; more than likely they were due to be installed on the new fixtures during installation. It seemed as though he fixed whatever was leaking from the disposal or so I thought, but the spout was still leaking(he couldn't seem to make it stop). After I made a call to MOEN to see if there was any defects with the spout he decided to untighten the base and notice that he left some plastic on the base that was supposed to have been removed before installing. The job ended up taking 5 hours to complete. So after I reimbursed him for the board and paid him he left. For extra protection, I bought a waterproof mat to put underneath the sink. I am so glad that I did because a couple of weeks ago I notice some water on the mat. After cleaning it up I decided to buy a bucket underneath and called this guy to come back out to fix the leak coming from the disposal. I have left at least 5 voicemails as well as sent text messages and I have a bucket underneath my sink that is half full with water. Thank goodness, I had enough common sense to put a bucket underneath because the floor would've been ruined. Unfortunately Chad is not returning any of my calls and texts...so I wanted to warn others that he is an absolute crook. He is extremely unexperienced and unprofessional. It makes me wonder if the reviews that I found were even real. He probably had his wife and himself to pose as different people to come off as a reputable person to do business with. I will be reporting him to the bbb, and I will be posting on other sites. Please stay away if you don't want a botched project!!!"

Unfinished Carpentry questions, answered by experts

There are a few easy ways to locate a wall stud without a stud finder. First, try knocking on the wall with your knuckles. Most parts of the wall will sound hollow, but when you tap over a stud, it will sound more solid. Alternatively, since studs are spaced 16 or 24 inches apart, you can measure those distances from a corner of the room, which will always have a stud.

The most likely causes of a deck leaning to one side are damaged deck posts, soil erosion, and inadequate deck footings. If you’re not sure about the exact cause, the best option is to call a contractor who can build a deck to inspect the damage and recommend the best way forward.

Yes, you can replace the frame around a window by completing either a partial replacement or a full replacement. With a partial replacement, your window specialist will remove the trim around the window and replace or repair just the damaged portion. For a full replacement, your tech will need to remove the window, replace the frame, and then reinstall the window.

Joists do distribute their load to beams, but they don’t sit on top of the beams. Instead, home builders nail or screw the joists directly to the beams such that the end of the joist butts up against the edge of the beam. Beams can sit on other beams for support, but you’ll never see a joist sitting on top of a beam or another joist.

Modern brick houses are really stick-built homes with a brick facade for aesthetic purposes only, so most have framing. With genuine brick construction, most homeowners install furring strips over the interior of the brick and then install drywall over those strips to cover the brick wall, so they don’t have traditional framing.
