"They started work without authorization to begin, and without providing a price quote. When the price quote was provided, it was outrageously high, so we had a discussion about the nickel and diming for the work (like $90 to install a toilet paper holder, and $350 in labor to replace a bath faucet). When we pushed back on the pricing, they got angry and made disparaging comments about myself and my wife, and walked off the job and sent an invoice (for work that was not authorized). Instead of arguing, we paid them to cut ties cleanly and only asked that they sign the appropriate Tax documents (W-9) and a release of lien so we could recover the insurance funds from the lendor. Instead of signing the documents, they blocked our phone numbers. I will not be able to get the funds (~$22k) for the insurance until we sell the house as a result. The bright side is that we found a very competent, and professional contractor that bid the job (with some add'l items included) for nearly 35% less. We considered legal action, but opted to take the high road and not stoop to their level of childish tactics. I have no issues with the quality of their work, but not for the inflated price that was presented after they started the work. That's a bait and switch in my opinion. Proceed with caution and get everything in writing. Also get more than one estimate from another licensed contractor."

"I call the office and the next day a salesman was at my house given me an estimate. He was very professional and review his estimate with my wife and I. We wanted to compere the estimate with other companies and we did. A few day later we call him back and he was ready to help us do what we wanted. We are very satisfied with the work they did."

"I recently hired KG Construction to remodel our shower, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. From start to finish, the experience was seamless and professional. They were punctual, respectful of our space, and incredibly detail-oriented. The craftsmanship is outstanding—the tiles are perfectly aligned, the grout lines are clean and consistent, and the overall look completely transformed our bathroom. They also took the time to answer our questions, helped us choose the right materials, and kept us informed throughout the entire process. It’s rare to find a contractor who combines skill, reliability, and great communication, but KG Construction truly delivered on all fronts. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for quality tile work, and I’ll definitely be calling them for future projects."

Using a steel frame may raise the value of your home. Steel is more heat resistant, has better longevity, and doesn’t need any upkeep compared to traditional wood. You can also customize a steel build a little easier than other materials like brick, concrete, and vinyl—which have trouble bending and adapting to renovations.

The average cost of DIY window framing is about $40 to $60 in materials. If you hire a window treatment professional, you’ll pay for materials plus labor costs—anywhere from $250 to $800 per window. The final cost is highly dependent on the window size, as larger windows are heavier and more difficult to install, as well as the type of window framing material.

Bow windows need support because they are large and extend out from the exterior wall of the home. Bow windows may extend 1 foot to several feet from the outside of the home, so you’ll need to provide additional support to handle this weight. A window contractor will be able to provide the proper amount of support for your new bow window.

To calculate the number of linear feet of baseboard you’ll need, measure the length of each wall of the room you’re installing them in as close to the floor as possible, rounding up to the next full linear foot. If it’s your first DIY molding job, having a few extra feet on hand for miscuts is a good idea.

Metal stud framing parts include the studs themselves, upper and lower tracks that act as top and bottom wall plates, various angle fasteners and clips, screws for fastening pieces togeher, metal straps, c-channel supports, and thicker steel supporting structures. Roof framing metal components include pre-fabricated trusses, heavy-gauge stud pieces, and various plates and fasteners.
