"First, I want to say George is awesome. I'm not sure there's anything he can't fix properly. He teams with his sister, who paints, and she does a great, professional job. George has brought some other handymen here to help him, and they benefit from his oversight. If anything is not perfect, George will come back and make it right. Among the work they've done for me is painting two half baths and a ceiling, replacing almost all the internal doorknobs with levers, stabilizing a pedestal sink, replacing weather stripping, replacing a light fixture, replacing a mailbox in a brick holder, and fixing a fence handle. Very happy with this contractor!"

"This time because of the scope of brick work, the work came under the heading of Mark Master's General Contractor segment; and a different technician.   Instead of 1 Brick, it was 5; and cutting and replacing pipe. Not only did he do a very nice job on the brickwork, but also saved as much pipe as possible under the brick to be effective and efficient.  The results is everything is high and dry for almost 2 weeks now and it is hard to see where the repair was done.  My water meter no longers moves without there being an open faucet.  I like knowing the work is also guaranteed for 30 days and that Mark Masters does respond to a call-back.

It could have been very sad if the pipe had broken behind the brick... much bigger scope of work.... much bigger bill.

My lesson; listen closer to what the expert says; not just the cost of work.  Chris was very nice and called it 'warranty' work because he did the initial work.  I am happy; happy he had a General Contracting Team to go with a Plumbing Team.  So happy that I am writing not just one Review of Work, but 2; because there were 2 trips to my house.

"John did an awesome job adding a shutter to our house that the builder left off. He also added new interior doors to our chicken coop which turned out amazing. Give him and he will get anything you need taken care of!"

Not all porch columns are load-bearing, though they can be. Some porch columns are simply decorative. There are ways to identify a load-bearing column, like looking for visible seams and a foundation. Also, check to see if the column directly enters the ground. In some porch installations, a contractor will excavate a hole to install a column into the earth along with a buried cement base for stability.

You can choose 5/8-inch plywood or 3/4-inch plywood—anything thinner than these sizes may not withstand the impact of debris propelled by strong winds or can be easily torn off by intruders. Remember that the durability of the wood board is crucial, particularly for safeguarding your windows during severe storms. The effectiveness of using wood boards for protecting the investment you made in your home relies on using the appropriate material and ensuring proper installation.

There are both temporary and permanent ways to enclose a carport. If you’re looking to enclose your carport for the winter, a canvas enclosure could do the trick. It won’t be as protective as a permanent structure, but it can offer some protection from elements like snow, rain, and wind. For a permanent enclosure, you can add extra walls, add a new vertical roof, or a lean-to addition on one side of the structure.

While some highly experienced homeowners can frame a house independently, it is not advisable. You will need ample carpentry experience, a team of helpers, and professionals to sign off on your work to meet local building codes. For the safest outcome, we recommend buying or building a house with the guidance of professionals.

To calculate the number of linear feet of baseboard you’ll need, measure the length of each wall of the room you’re installing them in as close to the floor as possible, rounding up to the next full linear foot. If it’s your first DIY molding job, having a few extra feet on hand for miscuts is a good idea.
