"Plumber charged a lot to hack up my house to fix a leaking pipe behind the dishwasher. He didn't hook up the dishwasher drain line correctly and it leaked. Had to fix myself. They used a scrap pipe instead of the proper $2 part. They wanted to charge me a service fee to come out and fix their problem. I would give zero stars if I could. Over $2200 for bad work. Avoid these guys!"

"Although this company is very courteous and employees are professional, they lack any common sense and will cost you time and money. I have used this company a few times now and this seems to be a consistent issue. The first time, they installed a leak defense system in the middle of my yard and placed a plastic rock on top, which looked obvious and terrible. In addition to paying the initial fee for install, I had to pay an additional $500 for them to come back out and reinstall it against the wall. Today, I had them come install pop-ups for some of my sinks and they didn’t check to see if the pop-ups had all parts before installing so I had to pay for removal of old drain, install of defective new drain and then reinstall of old drain. They offered no apology or discount so I ended up paying for 1.5 hours of work for NOTHING. I would not recommend this company."

If you’re maintaining your septic system, your drain field should last around 20 years. However, it’s important to get it inspected every two to five years to help your system last as long as possible and make sure it’s in safe, working order. Contact a septic maintenance company in your area for a quote.

You can cover a septic tank riser with dirt, but it’s not always the best idea. If you have a plastic riser and you bury it, you can easily lose track of it since you won’t be able to find it with a metal detector. Make sure to clearly note where your rise is in your yard so that you’re able to access it easily the next time you or a septic pro needs it. Don’t bury the cover too deep or you could place too much stress on it and make it too difficult to access in the future.

Drilled wells have a pipe sticking up that’s covered in a plastic or metal casing. On the other hand, a dug well will look like a big hole in the ground and is more similar to what you’d see in a fantasy or Western movie. If waste can’t drain into a full septic tank, you’ll see water and sewage backing up into your fixtures, but the air that causes gurgling is a result of poor venting. You are more likely to have a clog in your vent stack or a damaged air admittance valve.
