"Raphael with Spurs Electric LLC did an excellent job on our electrical wiring and panel upgrade. He was professional, knowledgeable, and took the time to explain everything clearly, which gave us total peace of mind throughout the process. The work was completed efficiently, safely, and with great attention to detail. Communication was excellent from start to finish, and everything was left clean and working perfectly. I highly recommend Spurs Electric LLC for anyone wanting reliable, high-quality electrical work and peace of mind."

"I hired Rocky to do electrical work on my pole, 150 Amp to 200. The work needed to be inspected by the city. It passed inspection, so, I don't think quality can get better than that. He was also half the price that someone else quoted me for the work. Rocky is a solid guy, giving good affordable pricing."

"Very professional. Took as much time as needed to answer questions. Very good attention to detail. Even though a few more rods were needed than originally quoted, they stuck to their original quote price. No surprises. I would highly recommend this company."

"The problem turned out to be a burned out small electric door switch. I believe the price was way too expensive for the service performed and the price of the door switch. What more can I say? It got done."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

While the line can't be removed, a pro can place a cap on the end to stop leaks. Contact a pro for a service call and speak with them about the related costs of either capping or removing the line altogether. Capping a gas line will cost between $75 and $150 while removing it will start at $250.

Hire an electrician the same way you would an employee. Ask questions and look for a good fit. Streamline the process by using these questions to ask an electrician. It's also common to ask for a quote in writing. Don’t forget to provide all the project details to ensure there are no surprises or opportunities for added fees.

A light switch should be at least 2 inches from the edge of the trim of a door. The location of wall studs will often help determine where to put the light switch by your doorway, and in most cases, wall studs make it impossible to install the switch closer than 2 inches. When possible, try to keep the switch within arm’s length of the entryway.

Burnt outlets can be caused by things such as faulty wiring, loose connections, or a circuit overload—and yes, they are extremely dangerous. If you notice your outlet is hot or has burn marks, you should shut off the power to it from the circuit breaker and immediately call an electrician.

Black is the standard color for hot wires, which transfer electricity to your outlets and switches. Red wires are also hot wires. White (and sometimes gray) wires are considered neutral, delivering power back to the panel. Finally, green wires, which are sometimes bare copper, are ground wires, used to ground an electrical circuit and prevent electrocution.
