How did it go.... like a bad country song. We contracted and gave initial payment for materials on June 14, 2013. .
Installation was scheduled for June 18, 2013. He did not show up. We called a number of times and finally got through to him. This would prove to be the norm. He gave us a number of excuses and said he would be ready to install the next day. He did not call the next day and we called him a number of times and he said he would install ?the next day?. He then said he would be at the house at 9:00 am to install on June 20th and he would have 2 assistants to help drain the tanks and remove them. His helpers did not show up and he did not start the new unit install until 6:00 pm. He got the initial install done at 11:30 PM and said he would come to make all adjustments the next morning at 9:00 am sharp, including setting up the battery back-up and the filter. The next day he showed up at 11:50 am which was 10 minutes before we were to leave for the airport. He was informed that we had checked the installed unit and noted he had installed a lower volume cheaper unit than he had in the contract and he promised to exchange and be compliant with the contract terms. Since he arrived late he did only a quick check of the install. He promised to come back and complete the instalation and put in the right unit, check setup and install battery backup and filter on July 2nd at 9:00 am. He did not show up and did not call on July 2nd. He finally came on the morning of July 9th and removed the 2 old water heaters from the attic and discovered he had a gas leak in his installation which had been going on for weeks since he did not do a proper check. He improperly installed the filter and let me know that the filter did not actually control scale in the unit as he had told me but it only filtered the condensation to lower its acidity. He blamed all the misinformation on his supplier. He also said he was incorrect about the recirculating pump and it would not provide any benefit in getting hot water faster to the kitchen. He also forgot to bring the battery back-up. He said he would correct the issues including the replacement of the incorrect unit with the contracted unit per written contract. He asked me to call the distributor and talk about the issues and he could explain the mixup. When I talked with the distributer they were very concerned about the installation and volunteered to come over to inspect the installation. He found the unit was not installed up to code and the filter was installed incorrectly.
At the recommendation of the supplier I contracted with another plumber and paid to correct My Toolbox's poor installation which was not up to code. Still don?t have the correct unit or the battery backup but the unit I have is correctly installed thanks to Hot Water Guys.

I had to dig my own trench for their line because "they don't do that." The set the 100 lb tanks on shifty little concrete blocks which, of course, became unstable and the tanks are now sliding off the blocks and leaning against my pool fence. When I called to get this fixed, Ashley's solution was to divert me to the service manager's voice mail. No call back from this guy after several days. Similarly, I wanted to have the gas connection to my gas grill reattached to a new deck and called HOCON. Again, they referred me to a voice mail for Jason the "sales representative." He returned my call by leaving me a voice mail, and I tried again two more times, but could never connect. That was two weeks ago. What sales rep doesn't sell, usually this guys are all over a prospective customer?? I finally just bent the pipe myself and reattached it to the deck. These people seem to be on "utility welfare." They just keep charging local customers and their responsiveness is nonexistent. I will say that the HOCON workers who have come to our house have been polite and accommodating. But the management of this utility is so incredibly poor that the line workers never really connect with customers. It was a big mistake for us to go with them. Called Russell because of the great experience last time. Again, he charged me much less than what a plumber would have charged and was at my house the very next day. Turns out it was a pretty simply fix (at least for him) and only cost $35. I wasn't sure he would be able to, but I asked if he had time to look a few other things--which he gladly did.He hung a picture which had been collecting dust for months on the floor, added a dimmer switch in the dining room, and hung a light fixture. I was so excited, all my little projects were complete!Russell only charged $115 for the three additions. First of all, Thomas M showed up on time as promised. After viewing the toilet he gave a quote, which I accepted. He then pulled the toilet from the base; replaced the seal and completed the job within 30 minutes or so. He then adjusted the flapper in the toilet tank so it would work...

"recently called John Moore Services for what should have been a simple plumbing issue — a clogged bathroom sink connected to my air conditioner drain line. I reached out after seeing their TV commercial promoting clogged sink service for “about $69.” What I quickly discovered is that this advertised rate applies to an extremely narrow and unadvertised category of sinks that almost no real-world situation meets. My straightforward, less-than-20-minute fix was quoted at over $600 to snake. This is an outrageous markup for such a basic job. As a former small business owner, I find these tactics troubling. This is a textbook example of bait-and-switch advertising — grabbing attention with a low price, then upselling with inflated charges once the customer is committed. Practices like this harm consumers and tarnish the reputation of the many honest, hardworking service providers in our community. Shame on you, John Moore Services. My strong recommendation: Do Not Use."

FAQs for septic tank service projects in Freeport, TX
The cost to replace a septic tank is $7,350 for the average homeowner. This cost can range, however, from $470 to $22,500, depending on several factors. Your house size is a significant factor in the overall cost, but other things like material type impact the final price tag. For example, installing a new septic tank in a one-bedroom house typically costs $500 to $900, whereas installing a new septic tank in a five or six-bedroom home is generally $1,200 to $1,600.
Yes, most states require septic tank installers to have a license, and for good reason. Hiring an unlicensed septic tank pro could lead to poor quality work, costly future expenses, and potential code violations.
As you browse our pro listings, take note of the “Angi Approved” badge. Angi Approved businesses meet our standards for certification which include:
The owner, principal, or relevant manager passed a criminal background check
Required to have applicable state and local licenses
Maintain an average star rating of 3.0 or better on our network, if they have at least one review
Paying to advertise their services
Meeting any other eligibility criteria required by Angi
Keep in mind licensing is different from certifications. A license is a legal requirement to operate a business, while certifications are voluntary.
The cost of septic tank repair is $1,775 for the average homeowner. However, depending on a few elements, you might pay as little as $170 or as much as $6,100. Location, repair type, and tank material all determine the final cost. For example, replacing the septic tank filter can be as little as $200 to $300. However, repairing septic lines costs more, averaging around $1,500.
A septic tank can typically last 15 to 20 years on average, though your system's lifespan will vary depending on the type of septic system and the materials used. To help increase your septic tank's lifespan, schedule routine maintenance and do not flush items like cat litter, cigarette butts, or paper towels.
Repairing or replacing a septic tank is a job best left to a professional. Your septic tank is an essential part of your home, and if installed or repaired incorrectly, it could lead to significant problems. Things like polluted water, property damage, and health risks to your family could all happen as a result of an improper septic tank repair or installation.
