"Painted our entire downstairs areas in a short time and worked around our scheduling conflicts. Also did some fence work that we couldn’t be any happier with. Very reasonably priced and a hard worker. Hiring for other home repairs in the future. Small company and usually a two man team, so if you have a small to midsized project and you have the time, this is who to call."

"Geraldo was a pleasure to work with. He installed a concrete pad to expand our driveway and a concrete pad for a storage shed. Both of these projects involved obtaining HOA approval as well as city permits. Geraldo managed the city permits for me in a very timely manner. The concrete work is over a year old now and is in perfect condition with no cracks or sinking. His communication style was very timely and professional. I would definitely recommend Texas Green Leaf Construction and use the company again."

"Andy made the repairs to our complete satisfaction. He replaced 4 cracked tiles and had to cut each new tile to its correct size. The installation and color match were awesome. Replacing a 16-year-old tile requires an expert craftsman."

Backsplash Installation questions, answered by experts

To make ceramic tile projects safer in Fort Worth, choose textured tiles with a Coefficient of Friction (COF) rating of 0.6 or higher to prevent slips from tracked-in rainwater. For pets, scratch-resistant porcelain is ideal and easy to clean after they bring in local clay soil. Also, opt for low-VOC adhesives and sealers, as their fumes can intensify in the Texas heat.

Helpful?

In Fort Worth, ceramic tile maintenance is tied to the local climate and soil. You should reseal grout every one to two years due to humidity fluctuations that can promote mold. Frequent sweeping is needed to manage dust and pollen, especially during allergy seasons. The area's red clay soil requires regular cleaning of entry tiles, and using protective mats during rainy seasons helps prevent staining.

Helpful?

In Fort Worth, a ceramic tile project can impact several home systems. Your HVAC may need adjustments during the 72-hour curing period due to temperature swings. Plumbing lines might need to be altered for the new tile thickness, especially in homes on expansive clay soil. Additionally, installing popular radiant floor heating systems requires electrical upgrades, and Texas building codes mandate GFCI outlets for bathroom installations.

Helpful?

Fort Worth's climate significantly impacts ceramic tile projects. The extreme temperature swings, from 35°F to over 95°F, demand proper expansion joints to prevent cracking. High humidity affects adhesive performance and curing times, so it's best to schedule installation during the milder spring or fall months. Professionals also consider the tornado season (March-May) when planning any outdoor tile work to avoid project delays.

Helpful?

New homeowners in Fort Worth should prioritize ceramic tile in high-moisture areas. Bathrooms are a top choice due to the area's 65% average humidity, which can cause water damage. Entryways and mudrooms are also smart projects, as durable tile stands up to Fort Worth's clay soil and frequent storms. A kitchen backsplash is another great first project that protects walls and adds value.
