"They made it as easy as possible. Great quality work and quick turn around on the build and installation process. We've been using the cabinets and drawers for a few months now, and are unbelievably happy with the results."

"We wanted to install a flagstone extension to our covered patio.  The shade from our many oak trees prevents grass from growing in this area.  Lon Pinckard gave us a bid and made some excellent suggestions on materials and coverage.  We accepted his bid and three days later they installed it.  The installation crew worked hard all day long and finished the project in a single day.  Workmanship was excellent, and the were very good about cleanup after they finished.  Lon followed up after the job to make sure we were satisfied with it.  We highly recommend Pinckard.

"This was our first project with GH Construction. Later we did the bathroom which we reviewed on earlier.
They showed up on time and gave us a great proposal. We got new tile on the floor, new back splash tile, new granite counter tops, a new dishwasher and a new stove. We also got two new wall scones and a new recesses ceiling lighting. All of which we picked out.
It took a few weeks after all the products were ordered and when they started the entire project took about 10 working days. Every one of those days they showed up on time and worked a full day. The guys who did the work were clean and they walled off the rest of the house with plastic curtains. It really helped with the construction debris and when they went home at night, they cleaned up their area.
All in all it was a great experience and I used them again a month later on our bathroom. I would encourage anyone who is looking for a good contractor to contact G.H. Construction Services."

"Mike was awesome to work with. He always answered my questions in a timely manner, which is a plus when working with a contractor. He installed a herringbone backsplash in my kitchen and it looks absolutely beautiful. His attention to detail is amazing!! I will be doing a bathroom remodel next and he is the guy I will hire!!"

Backsplash Installation questions, answered by experts

Tile shouldn’t be set tight against the tub. Bathtubs can expand when filled, and they can shift slightly with the weight of occupants. For this reason, it’s important to leave a slight gap between the bathtub and the first row of tile. Aim for a narrow gap of approximately 1/16 of an inch, filled with caulk, to allow for this expansion and movement while still allowing for tile shower waterproofing.

Tile installation can be expensive because it requires more time and labor to install than many other materials. For example, laminate flooring can click and lock into place, and carpet comes in large rolls that you can secure to the floor. On the other hand, tiles need to be cut, laid individually, grouted, and left to cure.

Regardless of the material, basic square tiles will never go out of style. Neutral colors like white, grey, beige, and black will always be in demand in residential and commercial settings. Certain designs, like herringbone and hexagonal patterns, are considered timeless. Porcelain and porcelain-like tiles will also never go out of style.

A cement backer board is not needed for laying tile on concrete. Sometimes referred to as a cementitious backer unit, or CBU, backer board should be used if the subfloor is plywood or OSB. The backer board provides a base on which to install the tiles that isn’t as likely to be damaged by any accidental water seepage as natural materials would be.

When working on your bathroom floor tiling, you should always tile the floor first and then refit the toilet afterward. This has both practical and visual advantages—the tile will have a better seal, and the installation will look cleaner.

On the other hand, when you try to cut the tiles to fit around the toilet, you’re putting yourself at a disadvantage. It’s a lot more work, it’s hard to be precise, and mistakes or miscalculations can lead to future moisture damage to the tiling, grout, and subfloor.
